If your parents won't discipline you, I will!" The shoe struck the side of my forehead with a thud. I slowly closed my eyes, ignoring them, then turned to Judge Caine. "I've made my decision. You may begin." The moment I spoke, I caught the flicker of unease on my parents' and Cody's faces. After changing into their school swim team uniforms, they went to the indoor pool at the hotel. Back and forth. Back and forth. JD swum lap after lap after lap. He pushed his body as far as it would go. With rubber arms and legs, he pushed himself out of the pool. A few long strides took him to the hot tub that Dean sat in. He sat next to her, and she snuggled into his side. Even if my daddy is the great James A Gideon Arthur Rosen-Hower he is always present at any of our activities. Mommy even suggested that she works here in my school since she has a teaching degree but she early on realizes that she can not conduct any classes at the cafeteria and daddy will not allow her to be away from him. Jodie's father said, looking at his wife. "Yes, I do. Although he is in a high position and powerful, he is still kind. He is much politer than the young man of the Henderson Family." Jodie's mother said with a smile. "Don't keep blaming the man of the Henderson Family." Jodie's father said Grumpily. “Women are just too petty and vengeful.”

I’d had a couple in the last week or so but just thought I had to poop or something. I really had to hurry up and tell Jude so I could tell Jada. She wasn’t going to be happy and disappointing her was always what I feared most in life. My parents are still together, have been married for over thirty-five years but they are both just … how do I put this? Blank? They’re like robots. They’re good people but they just don’t always think and see the obvious. They’re slow and take a long time to speak as if they’re mulling over every possible response to anything. Joe tilted his head, curious and innocent. Shopia swallowed hard. “Mama and Papa Hunter are getting divorced.” Joe went still, his eyes widening. “Why?
