I swiped right and saw the other photo of me with blonde hair. I suddenly miss my old hair. When my hair grows normally, I will no longer have to maintain this black hair. I miss my blonde and shiny hair that has low maintenance only. After all, Liam seems to be in love with me. I might not need to pretend to love this hair color. A photo of me and Blade in the pool grabbed my attention. It is a stolen shot of him drowning me. I turned the photo into the next page and saw my face drenched with water and it looked like a tuna had just come out.

Maybe a rebellious twin of mine or something. “Now you're going to act like you're seeing this for the first time, right?” Jade scoffed, clearly still angry about the idea that I did all this behind her back. I ran my hands through my hair to be sure I wasn't seeing things. But it was true. My hair was indeed blue. Like the color of the sky. There were streaks of white also, but most part of it was blue. I ran my hands down my face, hoping against hope that that action would wake me up from whatever dream or trance I was in, but the more I did it the clearer it became…my hair was indeed blue.

He ruffles Justin's brunette locks, giggling at his scowling face. "Stop it." Justin pouted as he tried fixing his dishevelled hair. He was busy setting his hair up when Boby stood, his eyes fixated on the door with his smile so wide. "Jinni !" Boby called out, making Justin turn his head at the direction he's looking at. He saw a tall man with blonde locks walking towards their direction. Justin could only think of a word that would best describe the man as he neared their table. Handsome.

He responded truthfully; it would be what he would do, but the girl merely turned to face him with an incredulous expression. "That's easier said than done." She retorted sharply and Justin merely raised an eyebrow. "And I never said it would be easy." Was his clipped reply, making the girl falter as she looked down for a moment. From their position, the moon streaked in and Justin couldn't help but admire the way it touched against her obsidian-coloured hair. He wasn't overly fond of many things, but art he appreciated and the way in which the light intertwined with her tendrils of hair was a work of art, indeed.

My eyes landed on a photo—a boy and a girl locked in a deep kiss. “Wait… is this the guy?” I asked, tilting the phone toward her. She nodded miserably. “Yeah.” I nodded back slowly. “You mean this one who looks like old Justin Bieber?” I raised a brow, pointing at his ridiculous hairstyle. For the first time that day, Isa let out a small, broken laugh. It was the same floppy hair, the same boyish vibe as old-school JB. Even in the middle of all this pain, that tiny laugh felt like a crack of light.

Annabelle suggested with a sly smile. I glanced at her, half-expecting her to laugh and take it back, but she only raised an eyebrow, daring me to go for it. The stylist nodded enthusiastically. “Blonde would be stunning on you. Something sleek and modern to bring out your features.” I hesitated, chewing on the inside of my cheek. Blonde was… drastic. But then again, why not? “Let’s do it,” I said, surprising even myself. Annabelle’s eyes widened as the stylist started sectioning my hair. “You’re really going blonde?” she asked, her tone teetering between genuine surprise and something else I couldn’t quite place.

The clattering sound of the repeated clashing of the canister and the plastic casing erupted between them for several minutes as her lungs slowly regained their normal functioning. Jayden stood, watching her frantic movement. His observing gaze slowly shifted to her hair which kept bouncing every time she shook the drug. Her hair was of a rare color, a different charm of blonde which was like bright gold or the sun rays filtering through the clouds, a shade that effortlessly demanded attention. The more he stared at it, the more terrifying memories crept to him.
