“Don’t do this here.” The door opened. Cade blinked, still groggy from sleep. When he saw both of us, his confusion turned into recognition and then that same smile. Zayne pushed past him. “I’ve had enough of you,” he said. “You keep hiding behind being my brother, thinking I won’t touch you. But if you ever pull another stunt with her, I will.” Cade scoffed. “What’s my crime this time?” “You kissed her. You crossed every line.”

With a determined stride, she set off towards his den, her paws carrying her swiftly through the familiar terrain. Upon reaching the entrance of Zavier's den, Kaida let out a gentle howl to announce her arrival. Moments later, Zavier emerged, his eyes filled with warmth and pride as he saw Kaida standing before him. "Kaida," he greeted her with a nod. "It's good to see you. How have you been?" Kaida dipped her head respectfully. "I've been well, Zavier. Our pack is thriving, and I owe it all to the lessons you've taught me."

I spoke with a small laugh, “I want to tie myself to both of you in every way possible.” “We were worried because there’s more to the marking that we’ve mentioned. It solidifies the bond between us, sweetheart. If you were to leave us, or be killed—well, the two of us wouldn’t live for much longer.” Kade murmured softly, a sound that was unusual for him. Kade was the harder of the two, the one who kept his emotions and thoughts well hidden behind dark, endless eyes. Vulnerability wasn’t in his skillset, but he managed for me. “You would be able to mind-l**k us directly, and not only would you feel our emotions, but we would feel yours as well.”

“But know this.....I won’t give up. I won’t walk away like he did.” He leaned forward, kissed my knuckles. “When this ends, if we survive it… I’ll be waiting. And if you choose me, I’ll spend my life proving you made the right choice.” For a second, I forgot everything else. The Rift, the danger, even Kai. Because in Kade’s eyes, I saw a kind of fire. Not wild like mine. But steady, devoted and real. That terrified me more than anything before I could answer, I felt it.....

My eyes drifted to Aria, who was still fiddling with the invitation card, studying it like it was some kind of puzzle she could solve if she stared hard enough. The video started playing and my eyes shut briefly at the sight. All I knew was that my body had gone tense. If Adrian were here right now, I would break his spine. “What are you looking at?” She finally looked up from the card. I slipped the phone into my breast pocket and tried, unsuccessfully, to keep my expression neutral. “Nothing.” “What is it, Kade?” “It’s just something stupid.” “I want to see.” “Aria…” “Kade Wolfe.” Her expression hardened. Reluctantly, I pulled the phone back out and she snatched it from my hand.

“You knew. You knew Kade had been after me from the beginning.” Zayn’s voice was quiet. “Yes.” Adrian tensed. “And you didn’t warn her?” Zayn finally stood, his presence as sharp as a blade. “Because warning her wouldn’t have changed anything.” He exhaled. “You weren’t supposed to survive, Ayesha. Kade was supposed to break you.” Silence. Then Leena whispered, “What the hell does that mean?” Zayn’s eyes darkened. “Kade isn’t just a strategist. He’s been building something bigger than all of us.”

My mother and Kade stood there and when Aziel moved, they entered the room. Kade all but lost his mind bouncing around the room and looking down at Xyla. “OMG she’s so cute? What did you name her? How much did she weigh? What color are her eyes? I need answers woman!” I tried to answer the questions as they came pouring out of his mouth, but he was too excited to calm down long enough for a response. He continued to explode with questions, until Aziel had enough and walked up behind him, placing his hand on his mouth to get him to stop.

Kade growled, snatching his arm out of Zayne’s grip. As intimidating as Kade was, Zayne wasn’t backing down. He grabbed Kade’s collar and charged forward till Kade’s back slammed against the wall. “Touch her again, and I’ll kill you,” Zayne snarled in Kade’s face. Kade’s eyes flashed, and I saw Jaxon in them. He growled and grabbed Zayne, spinning with force. Next thing I knew, their positions were reversed, and it was Zayne pressed against the wall.

Angry. Xander immediately positioned himself in front of Zade again. “Xander!” A voice barked. “Open the damn door!” Zade’s stomach flipped. He recognized that voice—deep, harsh, impatient. It was Kade, Xander’s cousin. An Alpha with a reputation for violence and zero patience. Xander’s expression hardened. “What?” “I know he’s in there,” Kade growled through the door. “You think I didn’t smell him earlier? Draven wants him NOW.”

Kade whispered, brushing her hair from her face, “we strike first. Not out of impulse, but strategy. Every move, every action, every whisper… calculated, precise. And we will not falter.” Lena pressed close, resting her forehead against his chest, feeling the steady, commanding heartbeat beneath. “Then let them watch. Let them fear. Blackwood will not just survive—it will dominate.” Kade’s fingers tangled in her hair, his lips brushing hers in a fleeting, grounding kiss. “And together,” he murmured, “we are unstoppable.”
