LILITH POV: Ah, the capital of the country. I loved being there, and from the looks of it, so did Kaiden. This was his first trip, and I reveled in watching his face light up as he looked at his surroundings, taking in the familiar buildings and sights that he'd seen on television. We were on our way to Kai's condo. He would be joining us in two days, while Esme would be joining us tomorrow to help look after Kaiden while I was at the book events for the book launch and the charity auction.

ALESSA’S POV The Hotel building was really luxurious. It was the first time I had visited a 5 star hotel. I stood outside watching the magnificent building. I wondered how Kai was able to book the penthouse. Did he spend all his savings? I smiled recalling last night..I was happy he didn't try to invade my room at night. Kai stepped out of the hotel and I blinked. Since when was his hair pitch black and curly? When did he change the color?

The room seemed to pause. He walked over—not to Ruby, not to Theo—but to the vending machine behind their table. He punched in a code slowly, deliberately. Theo stayed seated. Ruby’s heart pounded. Kai retrieved a bottle, turned, and finally faced them. He looked at Theo. “Alvarez,” he said casually. Theo met his gaze. “Kingston.” Kai’s smile sharpened. “You tutoring now?” “Yes.” “Charity work?” Theo didn’t rise to it. “I help people who ask.”

My wet hair was still dripping, and the droplets fell onto my collarbone and slid down my chest. Kai's eyes followed the droplets, his Adam's apple bobbing, looking so hungry as if he hadn't eaten for days. "Why would I avoid you?" I shot back at him stubbornly. The smell of smoke and alcohol on his body was making my brain go haywire. "Let go of me." Kai didn't let go. Instead, he brought forward his other hand and pressed it into my side. "It's my birthday today," he said. "Did you forget?"

I close the book and bring it with me back to the bedroom, putting it on her nightstand before I knock on the bathroom door. She’s wrapped in a towel, sitting on the closed toilet seat with her head resting on the counter next to it. Smiling, I put my hand on her shoulder to get her attention. “I’m too tired to get up,” she says, her voice muffled. "Give me a minute."

Yes, it's finally here the sequel to "the king and the rejected she-wolf" you can read this as a stand-alone, but I think it will make more sense after reading the other one first. hope you will enjoy to those who read the first one a while ago, I change Kai's name to Aiden.
