Valen rumbled. Confused, I thought he’d spoken to me, but then I saw Konah, covered in dark yellow scales, not quite golden in color. He, too, wore only pants. How the hell were they doing that? “He is yours,” Konah agreed and my delirious mind wanted both of them to keep speaking so I could bask in the richness of their voices. Not helping brain!

He dipped his head, and stepped to one side. “Wren did say that the amount of wolfsbane in your body was lethal.” My baby almost died. Just thinking about it made me so fucking angry. Back at barely hearing the conversation of the two men, back at letting her tears slowly fall from her cheeks and to the water, creating ripples and distorting her beautiful reflection. Then, a voice called out her name, a bit quiet at first, but it grew louder and louder each time her name was called. But when she turned, she suddenly fell into the water and a splash was heard, but Auria was much too tired to be startled at this point. She is much too tired to worry about her well-being. In truth, she would rather drown in the water and be with John, wherever John is. She would rather meet that kind of end than live in a world where she is not with her lover.

Nereo is laughing, chasing after Aeron, while Morana sits beside Camellia, talking quietly. “How’s it going?” I ask, sitting down beside Camellia. She smiles at me, her eyes bright. “Good. Morana was just telling us about the time you fell into the pond trying to catch a fish.” I groan, rubbing my forehead. “Not that story again.” Nereo laughs, his eyes shining with delight. “Did you really fall in, Nero?” “Unfortunately, yes,” I admit, giving Morana a playful glare. “And she never lets me forget it.”
