Damnit, why is Kane not attacking? With each step, Iroshi pushes Kane further and further back until his back slams against a pillar. My chest tightens and my palms begin to sweat. C’mon Kane! “Come at me Ibraco,” Iroshi taunts him. Yumiko stands beside me and she pulls up her kimono. As the men fight, she leans over and whispers into my ear. “Ibraco loves you.” Her statement catches me off guard and for a moment, I take my eyes off the two men and frown at her. I do not feel like talking to her right now. She smiles at me and turns her gaze back to the men.

She shrugs and smiles without answering, but I already know why. Her wide eyes darted from side to side, calculating her next move. Her gaze landed on a fallen branch near her feet. The wolves growled low, stepping closer. Kana bent down in a flash and grabbed the branch, gripping it tightly like a weapon. Just as one of the wolves lunged at her, she swung. The blow connected—not hard enough to injure, but enough to send the beast tumbling to the ground with a sharp yelp. Her relief was short-lived. The branch snapped in her hands, splinters scattering to the ground.

Ajax and Kano fly ahead, trying to find the hybrids and cut them off. “Over here!” Ajax calls and his voice is back to human. We race into the meadow where he is and see Kano vomiting on the ground. Ajax too looks like he’s going to be sick but he points to what he wants us to see. I race over to where Kano is and call the others to stay with me as Avani, Cedric and Ishir go to where Ajax is pointing. When the three get there, they pull up short. “What the fuck is that?”

Cai Kang left for a moment to buy some food along with Ryosuke when suddenly, Cai Kang looked at the entrance of a manga store leaving Ryosuke confused. “Do you like manga?” Cai Kang has a cheerful expression on his face. “Are you kidding? I love it. Kinda my window to the outside world growing up.” He said then shoos his brother away. “Go without me. The next volume of the Purple Dawn manga finally came out and it even has a handwritten signature from Hoshino Nozomi herself. I have to read it.”
