Let's start from the beginning, the very beginning. My name is Amara Zino, I am an orphan who lives with my only relative Madame Flavia. I lost my parents at the age of fifteen when they went on a 'parents bonding trip' and never returned alive. She turned to me and grabbed my arm, her fingers digging into my sleeve. "You are in our territory now. That means you are in my territory too, since I am Kael's fiancee. I have every right to send you packing if I want to." I looked at Sage, expecting to see fear or desperation or something familiar. But her face remained completely calm. She was not fazed. She was not scared. She looked at Mara like an obstacle she had already figured out how to remove.

“He wouldn’t believe you anyway. He’d believe us.” The words hit harder than the stick did. “What makes you so sure of that?” I asked quietly, looking down at my hand. “The place Evelyn hit me is already turning red and this is enough evidence that you’ve hurt me.” Mara smirked, like she was enjoying the whole commotion too much. “You think you’re special because you’re the Luna? The Alpha’s mate? You think that means anything to us? We also hold a special role in this pack just so you know” Mara’s voice was low, venomous.

Caterina goes inside with Kira while Kai and I are off to the side as she only requires Lily for this and when the moon peaks, she starts her chanting. “Woah, it’s just her? The Lynx witches needed their entire coven and more just to bind your Lycan.” I say. Kai sighs. “That’s how powerful Marle is. I’ve reluctantly concluded that we need her as much as she needs us, so we’re having a chat about everything tomorrow.” He says and crosses his arms while keeping an eye on the witch.

“That one? The one you said was for—” “Yes, that one!” Katherina snapped, her lips curving into a satisfied smirk. “It’s time to celebrate.” Marla hesitated. “Celebrate what, ma’am? Mr. Aschroft’s accident?” Katherina turned to face her, eyes glinting. “Let’s just say… the universe finally handled my problems for me.” Marla swallowed. “I’ll get the wine right away, ma’am.” “Good girl.” Katherina’s voice softened again. As soon as Marla left, she whispered under her breath, swirling the glass once it was poured, “My enemies are gone. My marriage isn’t threatened anymore.”

Look, what's most important is the fact that Diane is now the Luna.” “A Luna with no powers? What the hell are you talking about?” “That's not what I mean. By the way, she has powers. I say and I can hear him throwing something, maybe a glass against a wall maybe, because I can hear the shattering of glass in the background. “You’re annoying me, Tatum,” he says and I shake my head, focusing on Mara who is staring directly into my eyes as she grips my hand. “You know I don’t like to ask twice, and you know how I get when you don’t answer me,” “What do you want, Thatcher?” I ask dryly as I stare into Mara’s eyes. She’s the one giving me the strength to go on with the day. After everything I’ve been through, I don’t need Thatcher making things worse. It’s like he has the ability to make things that are bad a lot worse. It’s like fucking magic.
