She let out a dry, nasty laugh. I used my last bit of strength and tilted my head to her direction. I was so low on the cold floor, the first thing my blurry eyes met were her red louboutin heels. They were a very expensive brand, and I bet this was bought with my dad's sweat. Her name was Katherine. She was my husband's mistress and my dear best friend.

I owed a key to his penthouse since I was paying more than half of the rent, therefore I had easy access. I enter the house and slip off my heels. The moment the soul of my feet touched the cold tiles, relief washed over my body. This was such a calming feeling. My eyes dropped to her feet, only to realize that I was stepping on her left foot. Her shiny Gucci-brand stilettos matched her sweatwear. I lifted up my foot lazily, raising my face to look back at her. “No, obviously, I don’t.”

“I'd rather not dirty what I have on.” I had been so focused on the emotion I thought crossed her face that I hadn't noticed what she had on. She looked like the complete bombshell she was in her tight flared black dress and her long blond hair in a ponytail Ariana grande style. Our eyes went to her legs and we saw she had three inches of sandal heels on. I scoffed as I shook my head at how obvious she was being. Adam would take one look at her feet and surmise that she had been faking the whole thing all along.

We both watched her leave with maddening speed. As I watched her retreating hourglass figure clad in a navy blue, armless knee-length, silk dress, I should have been worried because I knew Kate could keep a mean grudge, but what I had on my mind was the baffling thought of how she could walk that fast on those high heels that had to be at least six inches long.

It was almost six p.m. as Caitlin walked the dock in a royal blue turtleneck dress with blue feather’s hanging from the end of the sleeves. The hem came above her knees. She was barely five months pregnant so she still had a little bit of a figure. She had even worn the light gold colored heels Alexander had included in the box. They were about three inches high. Her hair was hot curled in large stiff curls. Alexander had told her he liked it like that several times during the past eight weeks.
