Katherine’s POV The next evening, I stood in front of the mirror, staring at my reflection like I was meeting a stranger. The woman looking back at me wasn’t the quiet, careful version I’d been for years. I slipped into a red dress the first time I’d worn one since my wedding. For years, I’d stuck to gray, beige, soft blues. Safe colors. Colors that never drew attention. But tonight, I wanted to be seen. The fabric clung to my body like confidence I hadn’t felt in years. I brushed my hair over one shoulder and applied lipstick the same shade as the dress. My reflection looked… different. Stronger. Colder. The kind of woman who didn’t wait for anyone’s approval.

Somehow she found time in the last two minutes to ditch me and dash back to her room to change. Into a dress. Not just any dress. A white cotton sundress. A white cotton sundress that skims over her curves, flows over her hips and comes to a seemingly appropriate knee length that sways with her every movement and is in no way fucking appropriate at all. She's wearing a damn headband, for shit's sake. “Oh, you look lovely, Katherine,” my mother says. “Perfect,” the Senator agrees. Do they not see what I see? Katherine doesn't look the least bit lovely. She looks sexy. Sultry. Shit-hot.

At exactly seven o'clock, a loud rumble echoed down our gravel driveway. I looked out the window to see Katherine pulling up in a shiny, black pickup truck. She looked like she had stepped straight off the cover of a magazine. Her bright blonde hair hung in long, beautiful waves over her shoulders, and her green eyes really popped thanks to the smoky brown eyeshadow she had chosen. She was dressed in tight black pants and a black glittery top that caught the light and sparkled from a mile away.

Just Plain Katherine Katherine Scott. Tyler got the shock of his life when a woman he'd never seen before stepped around the corner and into view. She was wearing a black halter dress that accentuated her figure in all the right ways. The dress came down to her feet in a flowing mass of silk. As she moved, he could see the shining crimson highlights in her otherwise black hair, the soft ringlets bouncing against her back and shoulders as she walked. She wore no jewelry or other accessories that he could see. She didn't need any.

I’m sure Kate didn’t even realize who she was talking to. An hour later, Kate emerged from her room again. I was stunned by her appearance. She had fixed herself up nicely. She wore a black sleeveless top tucked into ripped jeans, paired with a shiny black leather jacket and a sling bag. It suited her perfectly, especially with her wavy hair highlighted in blonde. Her makeup was simple, making her look incredibly beautiful. The scent of her Bombshell perfume from Victoria’s Secret filled the air.

To himself, he was a dead man standing at his own funeral. A few feet away, Katherine Brown stood radiant in her white silk wedding gown. The thousands of tiny diamonds stitched into her veil caught the light with every slight movement she made. Her makeup was flawless, hiding the dark circles of her own frantic plotting. Her chest rose and fell with a steady, proud rhythm.

, Sarah shook her head, “I am not going to give him the impression that I want to sleep with him on the first date” “but you are going to, eventually”, Pierce told her. “if I am, I am not interested in announcing it”, Sarah said and pulled out grey slacks. “you are not wearing that, hell no”, Pierce said, shaking his head, “you are not going there looking like you dressed for a business dinner” Sarah pulled out a pale gown with long sleeves, sporting off shoulders and a low backside. “how about this?’ “hmph. I guess we could work with that, but you do not have a say about anything else. From here on, everything will be done my way”

His eyes were fixed on Katherine with an expression that could strip paint. Everyone noticed. Katherine released Killian and turned to Brie, arms open. "There's my girl." Brie slipped her phone into her pocket and allowed herself to be hugged. "Hey, Mom. Love the Balenciaga. It's giving— 'A very powerful witch who could end you but make it fashionably.'" "Well, you learned from the best." Katherine pulled back, admiring Brie's oversized Versace hoodie and diamond-studded grills. "Still rapping about how you don't love your family?"

Apart from the fancy clothes what was left in her box were sweats, baggy shirts, short and a few designers nightwear. Hopeless, Katherine left the luggage to her closet. Hoping greatly to find something suitable enough. She ransacked through the rows of her neatly hanged and organized clothes and finally settled for something befitting enough for the interview. Pinning a black belt over the white dress she had on, Katherine swiftly blow-dried and styled her hair, finalizing the outfit with her red and black stilleto heels. She packaged the necessary documents in a folder and head to the door. Flinging it open, she found Yvonne standing in front of her, her hand raised and her fist tightened.

She cursed as she walked towards her bag and picked up her outfit for the day before stomping off to the washroom to prepare for work. "Ouch…she almost broke my neck!" Harris whimpered, as he sat up and stretched his neck after watching Katherine stomp off to the washroom. Katherine reappeared in the room after almost half an hour in a black knee-high skort worn above black net leggings, a black halter strap tank top, and a black knee-high Italian boot. "Wow! You look as sexy as a mafia queen!" Harris exclaimed after ogling at her for over five minutes since she returned to the room.
