Deprived: Queen of the Outcasts

Deprived: Queen of the Outcasts

Jace whispered, his eyes wide. Before us lay a sprawling metropolis of translucent spires and floating arches. It was beautiful, but it was the beauty of a tomb. There were no lights in the windows, no smoke from chimneys. It was a city of frozen glass, preserved in a pocket of time where the wind didn't blow and the sun never set. "This is the Aethelgard," Kaelen breathed, his voice full of academic awe. "The lost capital of the First Shifters. Legend said it was swallowed by the earth during the Great Cleansing, but it wasn't swallowed. It was exiled."

The Lost Alpha Queen

The Lost Alpha Queen

As the darkness swallowed her whole, Sarah managed one last thought: she should have trusted her instincts. =========+========+========+========+========+========+========+======== ONLY IF FOR A NIGHT As Jackie was getting ready for the night, her mind drifted to thoughts of how she’s been buried deep in the trenches of grief after the death of her mom for the past few years. Through university, she drowned herself in textbooks, losing herself in the words until they twisted and blurred into an unreadable mess. Nights bled into one another, spent in clubs and strangers’ beds, chasing something she couldn’t even name, anything to numb the ache of loss. It was a cruel, endless cycle, one that

The Lost Heir

The Lost Heir

"If the answer to what you're looking for exists anywhere in the world, it exists here." Alec looked at the shelves disappearing into the dark. Thousands of volumes. Somewhere in this dark, maybe, an answer. "Where do we start," Maya said. Syler turned and looked at her. "That," he said, "is the question." He held the lamp steady for a moment, his eyes moving once across the shelves before finding Alec's. "I'll tell you what I tell every Guardian who comes down here. Some of what's in these walls was written by people who got close enough to Vargr to understand what he was." He started toward the stairs. "Close enough to write it down." A beat. "Not one of them survived the knowing."

Lost to Fire: Book Two

Lost to Fire: Book Two

Meanwhile, about a week and a half later, we received a letter from Eurydice. She wrote: "My loving Papa, I have safely arrived, and Rome is big and exciting! The buildings of the Roman Forum and the Imperial Palace are vast. Uncle Titus let me visit his library the first day I arrived. I was so happy to view all the great works of the Ancient Greek poets and philosophers. Of course, he has the writings of the Roman men throughout the century. The orations of Cicero, the sagas of Ovid, and so many others that I cannot remember all their names! I was given a tutor, a man, but he's not like my Jessa. Please convey how much I miss her, and I search for her litter every day! I'm not sad in Rome,

Eternal Embers

Eternal Embers

“Scholars who ask the wrong questions get locked out. Or worse.” Isabelle opened the folio slowly. Inside: faded illustrations of rituals, firelit gatherings, a sigil that matched the locket’s flame-and-thorn motif. She looked up. “The Keeper of Ashes is a society of women… but this—this is something older.” He nodded. “The Keepers weren’t just guardians. They were conduits. Protectors of something ancient. Something the city tried to erase.” She stared at the last page. A prophecy. “When the embers stir in a daughter’s veins,

Ilyria and the Lightning Bird

Ilyria and the Lightning Bird

From the second dice, she got the next number—the page in the book. And there it was. It had even been marked ‘Lost Cities of the One World.’ Ilyria wanted to laugh but she was too relieved. She didn’t know how much time had passed but she felt an urgent need to hurry. She removed the page from the book, closed it and put everything back as it had been. For her father. She made her way back down the passageway, thinking of how she would love to spend days in her father’s chambers, looking over all his papers, trying to know the man and not just the fragmented memory of a father that she had.

Queen of Ruin- The Broken Immortals Book Three

Queen of Ruin- The Broken Immortals Book Three

Coming to a clean, rocky stream, she heard the faint cries of a baby and Rafik singing their song. She delicately hopped across the smooth stones then stood before a gate with giant ancient statues to each side. An older warlock with long black hair and green robes nodded his head to her. “Welcome to the North Woods, Your Majesty. Your family is waiting for you.” When she passed through the giant stone guards that kept watch over the city, she found herself surrounded by wooded cliffs and waterfalls and found her parents waiting by a cobblestone path. Her mother kissed her cheek and held out her hand. “They are waiting by the docks.”

HIS BABY GROWS INSIDE ME, BUT HIS HEART BELONGS TO HER

he asked, alarmed. “Worlds,” she whispered. “Lost ones. Failed ones. All of them trying again. And one child… marked.” Lyra stepped closer, voice dropping. “We need to speak to the Archives.” Kael stiffened. “You mean the mountain seers? They're sealed off. The last time anyone went near, the cliffs collapsed and the trees bled red sap for a week.” “They’re not just seers,” Lyra replied. “They are *keepers.* If there’s anything older than the Forgotten Ones or the Balance, it’s in their records.”

The Heir Who Lost Everything

The Heir Who Lost Everything

Finally, they dumped my barely conscious body into the smelly gutter behind the hotel. "Ha, you pathetic loser!" one of them spat. "You think you can fight Mr. Xander for the family inheritance?" The other added, "Yeah, what a joke! You belong in the gutter." The bodyguards cursed as they walked away. Just then, the sky opened up, and a thunderstorm began, as if nature itself wanted to shatter all the fake promises. I lay there, crying in the pouring rain. "Why, God? What did I do wrong for you to do this to me?"

Contract With Big Brother-in-law

“All this time, she has held me by her side, for I am needed there. I am a special wolf, Kayla. I have aided the Moon Goddess in spirit, watching over Luporath.” “Luporath?” I whispered, the name sending a shiver through me. “What do you mean?” “I am the last descendent of the lost city of Luporath,” she explained. “And thus I am its protector. Every choice you have made, even crushing the compass bracelet to keep Luporath hidden, was guided by my spirit.”

Kimmy
"Wow, what a charmed life she’s living—pain, suffering, heartbreak—she’s got the full package! It’s almost like the author’s personal mission was to make sure the heroine never experiences a single moment of joy. Truly inspiring.,.. very disappointing this one is really exhausting to read

Let me first say that this author has kept me coming back to read the rest of the story. However, poor Kayla… can’t she catch a break? This is one of the better books I’ve read on here, but I’m starting to get frustrated by the 2 steps forward with Nicholas and Kayla for them to take 10 steps back.
