His voice was low, warm, but loud enough for Arden to hear clearly.
Arden’s breath hitched. He quickly looked down, his lashes fluttering. “Kellan…” he whispered, barely audible.
Kellan smiled wider, watching the way Arden’s fingers tightened around the cup.
“Hey, more ice cream, please,” Kellan called to the seller, still grinning.
Arden looked up at him again. “You’re unbelievable.”
“Maybe,” Kellan said softly, leaning a little closer. “But at least you’re smiling now.”
Arden didn’t reply. But the way his lips curved slightly said enough.
