I get up slowly from the bed, which seems like an hour. Even the night is cold, I can feel sweat on my forehead. There is some kind of uneasiness around me, even though everything seems to be fine. Finally, I stand up from the bed and pour a glass of water for myself and suddenly; I feel a sharp piercing pain in my abdomen. The pain is exaggerating and unbearable; the intensity is exploding.

I woke up suddenly as a sharp pain shot through my stomach. I glanced at the clock on the bedside table and realized it was only two in the morning. I was sweating profusely and couldn't help but clutch my stomach, the pain intense and unrelenting. I let out a soft groan, hoping to alleviate even a fraction of the discomfort, but it persisted.

"Don't get close to the edge. It's dangerous." I looked up at the sky, watching clouds drift lazily across the pale blue expanse. I blinked slowly, trying to find some peace in the morning beauty. My eyebrows furrowed when a sudden sharp pain shot through me without warning. Electric shocks that seemed to strike my upper right abdomen, intense and burning. The pain made me bend forward instinctively and a low groan escaped my mouth before I could stop it. This had started about a week ago. Random stings in my upper abdomen that I'd been ignoring, but the pain was getting progressively worse each time.

My thoughts began to drift, a hazy blur of memories and half-formed dreams. It was peaceful, until it wasn’t. Suddenly, a sharp, piercing pain ripped through my lower abdomen. It was so sudden, so intense, that I bolted upright with a yelp. My hand instinctively flew to my stomach, but the pain didn’t subside. If anything, it grew worse, radiating outward like fire spreading through dry grass. I gasped, my vision blurring with the intensity of it. “Rune!” I called out, though my voice came out weak, barely a whisper.

Are you there? I smiled faintly. The silence was clearly making him uncomfortable. I imagined him glancing at his phone to confirm the call was still connected. Perhaps checking the signal. Perhaps wondering whether I could hear him. I finally drew a quiet breath. I was just about to respond— A sharp pain suddenly stabbed through my abdomen. The sensation came without warning. My smile vanished instantly. I instinctively pressed one hand against my stomach. The pain intensified. It felt as though something were twisting inside me.
