Heaven warned and Taylor nodded apologetically. "Besides, I don't have a tattoo on my neck. The guy does." Gatlin said again, totally ignoring what Taylor had brought up. Heaven took a closer look at the man's neck and then at Gatlin's. There was really nothing on Gatlin's neck. "You noticed that so quick. You drew a fake tattoo so you could point it out and escape! You had this all planned out from the start!" One of the girls said angrily. Heaven merely breathed out slowly. She soon closed the window on her computer and looked up at Gatlin.

Kieran’s POV: That tattoo, it was something that I had never seen before. I paused at the fact that it was my name. Even though it was disguised, I knew. The tattoo was a minimalist crown sharp and angular, unlike any royal insignia I had ever seen. Below it, a date. A subtle set of Roman numerals, the same day he got appointed as my guard and below that, in small, precise script barely larger than a whisper: "Even if it ruins me."

I got even more excited. As I got closer, a guard came out of the hut at the side of the gate. He was wearing an official-looking uniform, and his name tag read Kevin. He sniffed the air and then growled at me. “What does a piece of trash like you want?” He asked me with a disgusted look on his face. “Entry. My sister was supposed to have a mating ceremony last night. I was invited, but got delayed. I know I’m late, but I would still like to see her.”

I’m pretty sure the actual police aren’t looking for me, so maybe… “Cop guys?” Kevin’s got the vape to his mouth now, so he holds up a finger for me to wait as he takes a hit. “Yeah,” he coughs the vapor, then reaches into his pocket to retrieve a ceased business card. “They were like private security or something, though, not actual cops.”

What captured my attention was a square-shaped bandage wrapped on the left side of his chest. "Remove it," He ordered me indicating that bandage. I am not very decent at dressing wounds cause the blood scares me. I carefully removed the bandage and what I saw made me gasp with shock. "You like it?" Kevin asked. I was still not out of shock at its sight. It was a rose inked on his chest with a sword in place of its stick. And the leaves were curved around it in such a way that it calligraphed the letter 'R'. His skin in that area was a little swollen and slight redness was visible around it. He had so many tattoos already then why this... that too his chest. I wanted to know.

"Kevin, I was capricious in the past, but I truly regret my actions. Will you forgive me?" I held Stephanie's hand tightly. Without looking at Lola, I yelled, "No!" "No! "M-my tattoo must be bothering you, huh, Kevin? Look, I've gotten it removed!" She raised her hand and unwrapped the bandages, showing me the raw wound. The wound started bleeding again because she was too nervous. Some blood even dripped onto the white wedding gown.

Kate screamed at him. “Oh, Miss West. Katelyn. Geoffrey came to us himself. He knew right away that we weren’t the bad guys. If you'll give me some time, I’d like to suggest something to you,” Kevin explained calmly, with a wry smile on his face. Kate was still looking at her friend sitting opposite, who didn’t dare look up. Then she slowly turned to Kevin Garrett. She could see the cruelty and danger in his eyes, but she braved his gaze.

Time passed by second by second. Around eleven o'clock, a car approached. Kevin's body suddenly straightened up, his eyes fixed on the familiar license plate. 2888. Wasn't that Donovan’s car? His heart raced uncontrollably, and he saw the car door open. Three men coming out. The tallest man in front had a fierce scar between his eyebrows, earning him the nickname Scar. No one knew his real name. Some referred him as Donovan, some as Scar. Two men followed behind him. At the gate, the guard respectfully greeted them, and Donovan mumbled a reply before walking straight in.

He didn't know how he would face people when the wound and the symbol on his cheek were so obvious. "Who are you, Lyon Armstrong? And what is your relationship with the man who did this to me? " he asked bravely while looking in the mirror. He bandaged his wound to hide the symbol. Then he immediately dressed in a suit to meet Lyon in his office. . . . . . "What happened to your face?" Lyon asked him as soon as he entered his office. Kevin looked at him bravely. "Show me your face," Lyon ordered. Kevin slowly removed the bandage from his wound. And he bravely exposed it to Lyon.
