She lay back down and Kiara raised both knees a little to her chest and nodded her head in agreement and smiled when she felt his fingers slip through her hair stroking her head and then kiss her gently on the forehead. KEVIN’S POV When Kiara didn’t return for a long time, I went in search of her. She was seated on a boulder in the backyard of the camp. Her wavy hair waltzed in the breeze hiding most of her face. There was something very alluring about this. I found myself walking towards her in a trance. When I was a few yards away from her I was hit by a strong surge of emotions; pain, fear, worry, grief… I was by her side in an instant and pulled her into a tight hug. She buried her head in my chest and started sobbing softly. Every sob pierced through my heart with equal intensity sending waves of pain through my body.

Gabriel could live however he wanted, but that wasn't me. "Matteo!" a voice called from the top of the stairs. Kiara appeared, her eyes wide with excitement. She was stunning, tall and graceful with long dark hair and a smile that could light up a room. She came down the stairs quickly and greeted us warmly, first hugging me, then pulling Adriana into an embrace. "It's so good to see you both," she said, her voice genuine. "We're planning to head to the beach in a bit. Adriana, do you mind helping me pack the food?"

I glance towards Kon and see the same concern in his eyes before I clap his back and smile. “We’ll get her back,” Is all I say before heading back towards my car but then stopping. "Where the fuck are the witches?" I ask, remembering that they needed to be questioned as well. "They sent Kimara over, but she's left already," Kon says, and I couldn't help the growl that reverberates in my throat as I walk away. Fucking cowards. “Kai,” Kon calls behind me, and I turn around. “We’ll get her back before you know it.” He says, trying to placate me, but it’s not working. I’ll only calm down once I have Caterina in my arms again, and until then, everyone better keep the fuck out of my way.

I shook the thought from my mind, knowing there was no way Kai would bond himself to me for the rest of our lives just to prove a point.
