Killed by His Fix
I rolled my eyes, and he pulled out his wedding ring, which he had taken off since Marina showed up.
Trembling, he slipped it back on his finger and kissed it.
"Caitlin, I'll find you," he murmured.
I backed off, grossed out.
While he wallowed in his pain, Marina tried crawling away.
He caught her moving and yanked her back by the hair, dragging her to the elevator.
He fiddled with it, and the doors creaked open.
I peeked inside, curious.
What I saw shocked me. The shaft was filled with nasty, stinking sewage.
