~KAEL~ I woke up to the sound of my phone buzzing nonstop. I grabbed it, already feeling the weight of the notifications before even looking at them. The headlines flooding the screen were worse than I expected: *Kael claims an unknown mate—who is Aria?* *Kael steals Luca’s fated mate! I gesture for her to come in my breath catches in my throat as I catch sight of the numerous marks that adorn her neck, back, and shoulder. She gives me a knowing wink as she walks past me, leaving me stunned.

No one knew about the contract between Calon Falch and Lúa Infinita so it was possible to believe Drix made up the story to elevate me.

The ceremony was meant for Bronze declaring me as the Luna and since now that’s not happening, there shouldn’t be anything going on in there. I push the doors open. A wall of cheers slams into me. Happy voices echo through the entire hall. Dozens of pack members are gathered, clapping and smiling. I see Elder Gonalz standing at the center of the stage, his expression full of pride. “Today,” he announces loudly, “we celebrate the official union of Mallory and Alpha Bronze. They are officially mated.” The crowd erupts again, even louder than before. People clap, whistle and congratulate each other like this is the best news they have heard in years.

Every face was smiling, full of blessings. The Elder began to speak, his ancient words echoing across the altar. “Aria Rossi, before the eyes of the Moon Goddess, do you willingly take Ethan Moretti as your mate, your Alpha, and become his Luna, to protect this pack together, through good times and bad, for all your days?” I looked into Ethan’s gentle eyes and was about to speak. BOOM! The heavy doors were suddenly thrown open with tremendous force. The deafening crash made everyone turn in shock.

With each strike, they pushed Kevin back, gradually gaining the upper hand. "You underestimate the power of unity," Alpha Caleb growled, his voice resonating with authority. "We stand together, Selena will never prevail!" Kevin snarled, his strength waning under the relentless assault. "You may resist now, but Selena's power knows no bounds! We will overcome you!" But the combined strength and unwavering determination of Alpha Caleb and Lady Victoria proved too formidable for Kevin to overcome. With a final strike, Alpha Caleb disarmed his adversary, leaving Kevin defenseless. The battle had turned in their favor.

Alpha Kaerald attacked first, his strikes brutal and desperate. But Alpha Killian came prepared for him as he easily countered every strike like he was anticipating every move of his. Within seconds, Alpha Killian overpowered him, slamming him hard against the ground. The floor cracked beneath the force. Alpha Kaerald struggled, growling, trying to break free but Alpha Killian hold was strong. Warriors surrounded them quickly and drew their weapons out, pointing it to Alpha Kaerald. There was no escape for him anymore. Alpha Killian grabbed him by the collar and forced him still. “It’s over,” he said coldly.

But I could feel the tension radiating off her like heat from a blade just drawn. I stepped forward. “You all know why I’ve called this meeting,” I said. My voice echoed, sharp in the silence that followed. “There’s no need to drag it out.” Some heads turned. Some didn’t. I took Kaliah’s hand and raised it slightly. “This is Kalilah of the former Silver Moon Pack. Warrior. Survivor. The one who ended Axel.” A ripple went through them—recognition, disbelief, something like awe, then doubt. “She is also,” I continued, “my mate.”

“By our Gods’ will, your union is blessed now and forevermore. You may now seal and consecrate this handfasting with a kiss.” Kai smiles as he says this, then leans down and claims me with a kiss, but there is something different in this kiss. I couldn’t put my finger on it, but when we broke off the kiss, I think I knew what it was. The eclipse has started, and Kai has a ravenous look in his eyes. “Our work is done. You may now claim your mate and Luna, Alpha Kai,” Kaede says with a satisfied smile, then walks away from us with her sisters in tow. The Volkov brothers smile and follow the witches out, leaving Kai and me alone.
