“That was his plan,” Danny admitted, careful not to say too much. “But he has a house here. He gave me his card and offered to spend time with me.” He kept his tone casual, but unease tugged at him. If Mahisar found out he had spoken of their meetings, there would be consequences.
“I’m curious, Danny,” Kaelan pressed gently, his gaze narrowing, “what do you talk about?”
Danny squirmed, his shoulders tightening. Across the table, Tharion felt the shift like a vibration in the air. His wolf prowled the edges of his mind, restless, alert. Something unseen pressed against Danny, something Tharion could almost smell.
