Taken by surprise, the man stumbled forward and Luigi swept his legs out from under him, causing him to fall flat on his back. Disoriented, the man groaned as Luigi turned to Big D. “Are you going to let her go?” Luigi asked, his eyes locked on Big D. “Or do I have to come over there and make you?”

I was the opposite, so I made my point loud and clear– seen, heard and most importantly, understood! “Understood, Supremo! Thank you for your kindness!” Luigi bowed deeply. His men did the same. They bowed with their foreheads almost touching their knees. I turned to Gab and Marco. “I think I need a drink!” I said without making my stare at any of their faces last longer than a few seconds. But as I felt I have been making Marco feel so bad despite his eagerness to comfort me, I avoided looking at his face but I clung my arms, one each on Gab’s and Marco’s arms.

Almost immediately, the sound of booming music thrummed through the forest. I eyed Luigi as he stepped forward and undid the gag of both of our mouths, she avoided my eyes when he removed mine. Luigi asked, ignoring Giovanni's speech. “I'm not here because of any fucking request,” Giovanni replied, the pitch of his tone increasing every second. He put his hands into his pockets and Luigi watched him with keen interest. He hesitated before producing a gun from his left pocket and dropping it on the table. He took a seat in front of Luigi and relaxed in the chair. “Whiskey or wine?” Luigi asked, already getting up from his seat. “Bourbon whiskey,” Giovanni replied. Luigi returned with a bottle of bourbon whiskey and placed it in front of Giovanni before returning to take his seat.
