My pulse hammered, uneven, and I pressed both hands against my stomach, as though I could shield the life inside me with nothing sheer will alone. I felt Ronan’s gaze steady on me, but I couldn’t bring myself to meet it yet. My mind replayed the patterns, the call-and-response of the howls. It was warcraft, not hunger. Asher hadn’t just made a pack, he’d made an army. And if he could command them with this kind of discipline, then nowhere was truly safe. Not the forest, not the villages, not even the palace walls. Fear pressed in until it was hard to breathe, because this was no longer only about survival; this was survival of an entire Kingdom.

Ash wondered how he was going to find the water lord. Did he live in the mountain, away from his kingdoms, or did he live like a classless man amongst his kingdom people. He kept walking until he got into the border of the first kingdom. Ash stared at the first house that met his eyes and unknowingly frowned at it, travelling by foot through such a long distance was definitely enough to throw one off and make him that cranky and it seemed like a justified reason as to why everything was making him irritated.

Almost half of the people of Abasia Kingdom who believed in the banished prince followed him and settled in a nearby location, took over the new kingdom the late king had under construction, and took over the farmlands of making farmers. That was how the Amah Kingdom came into existence. "Ohh! I see. That must definitely be the reason the gods have been against our soldiers from going to war with the Amah Kingdom. They are fragments of this king. They were actually part of us." Jack said

Then, abruptly, the trees fell away. They stepped out onto a wide shelf of black stone at the base of the spire. Up close it was even larger than it had seemed from the ridge — a jagged tower erupting from the earth, its surface veined with glowing sigils that writhed slowly like living script. The silver-veined forest ended at its edge as if cut with a knife. Ava’s breath caught. “This is it.” The token flared against her ribs, a steady burn that was almost pain. The whisper filled her head, clearer than ever: Daughter of ash. Come.

I whisper, Ash grins as he replies, “A King cannot go wear without a Queen to come home to, baby; one day won't hurt us. Besides, besides, we have an army of thousands; they won't miss five of us for a day.
