FATED BY FIRE
Before I could respond, his mouth crashed against mine.
The kiss was nothing like before. It was raw, brutal, a clash of fire and fury that left me gasping. His blood mingled with mine, his heat burning through me, his dominance searing every nerve. I should have pushed him away. I should have reminded myself that this was reckless, dangerous, forbidden.
But I didn’t. I kissed him back, fiercely, desperately, like he was the only thing tethering me to the earth.
When he finally tore away, his forehead pressed to mine, his voice was ragged. “You’re mine, Cara. No rogue, no war, no one else will ever change that.”
