Part 49. Afternoon, the sun was shining brightly. Joe glanced briefly at Clara, who seemed engrossed in reading a translated novel by William Shakespeare. "Clara," Uncle Joe called. "Yes," Clara carefully folded her book and closed it. Then, she walked over to Uncle Joe, who was sitting in his armchair. Clara stood beside Joe, looking at the laptop screen he showed her. "Which one do you prefer, this one or this one?" Joe asked, pointing to two options of a pink and a purple teddy bear.

As Luna went about her morning routine, Clara hovered politely, offering assistance that Luna didn’t ask for — always with subtle remarks hidden beneath her professional tone. When Luna reached for her robe, Clara stepped in to help, murmuring, “Mr. Blackwood has excellent taste in silk. I suppose it must be nice having someone who notices every detail about you.” Luna turned sharply to look at her. “What’s that supposed to mean?” Clara blinked innocently. “Oh, nothing, ma’am. Clara glanced at her bag on the table. “You can have my bag.” She replied and Kaylee gasped.

Leading Kathy by the hand, Clara walked out of sight behind me, saying, "I need you to keep wetting this for a while." Clara came up close behind me. I felt the heat radiating from her exposed skin.
