Part 49. Afternoon, the sun was shining brightly. Joe glanced briefly at Clara, who seemed engrossed in reading a translated novel by William Shakespeare. "Clara," Uncle Joe called. "Yes," Clara carefully folded her book and closed it. Then, she walked over to Uncle Joe, who was sitting in his armchair. Clara stood beside Joe, looking at the laptop screen he showed her. "Which one do you prefer, this one or this one?" Joe asked, pointing to two options of a pink and a purple teddy bear.

Louis is astonished to see the thing in Klara’s hands because it’s been so many years since he saw a laptop up so close. “Did he allow it?” he asked taking the thing from her and settled on the sofa caressing the hard metal with adoration. He missed playing with keypad. Klara nodded and shook her head, she again nodded but shook her head again. “He said not to cause trouble but we are not messing around right” she said sitting beside Louis making him chuckle and he rubbed her head with a doting look. Klara took the laptop from Louis and typed the password before returning it to him.

She notices a small glass bump, like half a sphere, set into the metal shell just above the magnetic clasp, adding to the device's charm. Carefully placing the Sonoclam back on the display case, Nerissa asks her next question, "And the shell I was looking at earlier is the protective case for this device?" The merchant nods with a smile and replies in Aquasign, "Yes, indeed. The beautiful clamshell you saw earlier is the perfect protective case for the Sonoclam."

Clara questioned closer than she was before. “Not on your life” Kieran said. “Okay then. Your loss will be enjoyable” and with a laugh she went on the offence. Kieran wouldn’t really hurt her, but if it called for it he would defend himself. He was able to stop her in her tracks, but she was fighting his control. “This is a good time to jump in” he gritted out to Stephanie. She was better now. “Sure” and she ran out of Kieran’s line of vision and tackled Clara from the side onto the floor. Her hands glowed crystal blue and Clara groaned her body stiffening. This was a nauseating power.

The surface looked rough, with the hills and valleys ingrained on the outside. Her fingers grazed over the uneven reflective exterior, flipping it over, noticing there was a crevasse in between the top and bottom. She slowly pried the two halves apart to find a pink pearl cushioned in the center. “Whoa.” The quarter sized, silky smooth pearl felt amazing between her fingers. It was so pure, so flawless, that she could even see her reflection along the curvature. Three packages remained on the coffee table. Jack shuffled them around, pushing two towards Claire. She instinctively reached for the third and got it before Jack could stop her.

Kacie “Was trying to avoid your Beta’s scorn after he saw you returning without clothes. I like them a little riled up but I almost struggled him to death and you weren’t very happy. I didn’t think it would hurt to warn you in advance,” Clara said. She was wearing a spaghetti-strapped black knee-length dress and she paired it with black combat boots. The orbs hanging from her ears glowed brighter as she faced me. “Thanks for the warning,” I laughed. “I would like to avoid as many conflicts with you and Jake as possible.”

I massaged the side of my bump. The weird pains popped up every now and then, mainly when something stressful was happening. Today they almost didn’t stop. I could see Clara playing through the glass. She had a blonde barbie in her hand and pointed to it when she spoke to the woman. The entire room was decorated like a playroom, with colourful walls and a soft floor. The only thing that wasn’t decorated as though a rainbow threw up over it was the woman. She wore a black pants suit.

There were large containers filled with drinks and there were so many sweets. Clara was so excited and surprised to see Alex in a very different state. His milk face was covered with orange, green and blue colour powder while he was constantly smiling which was a rare sight to see. She wished to take those colors and smash them over his face like all doing. Without any hesitation, she took a handful of red colours and walked towards Alex.

Clara urged, nodding toward the remains of the bag. I extracted a square box wrapped in shimmering azure paper. It was a shade of blue that reminded me of the deep ice at the center of a rink—one of my favorite colors, though I’d never shared that preference with her. I chalked it up to a lucky guess. As I tore away the paper and flipped the lid, a stunning timepiece rested against the velvet. "It’s a Longines Master Collection Moonphase with a blue alligator hide strap," Clara said, her voice dropping into a breathy, reverent tone, almost as if she were reciting a mantra for the Swiss craftsmen.

Asa’s jaw tightened at the thought of him. A soft knock at the door interrupted his thoughts. Asa didn’t move. “Come in,” he said, his voice low, the words carrying a quiet authority. The door creaked open, and Jax stepped inside. He hesitated near the threshold, his gaze flickering nervously to Asa before quickly dropping to the floor. The younger wolf’s unease was almost palpable, the faint tremor in his stance betraying his anxiety. Asa didn’t need to look at him to feel the nervous energy rolling off him in waves.
