"Well, nothing out of the ordinary, except…" He hesitated, not knowing whether to reveal this specific fact. Curiosity caused Jason's eyes to narrow. "Except what?" Leo took a big breath and said, "Jason, we kissed. That was after my giving her some of the goodies she had made for midnight." Jason arched an eyebrow in mild astonishment at this disclosure. "And how did she react to the kiss?"

Alex maintained his distance. To the workers, it looked like Mr. Quinn was done with the office tramp. But Kristoff was no outsider. He saw everything, he knew every damn thing. XAVIER’S POV “What did you say?” My heart’s rhythm changed yet again and this time it wasn’t just the pain of what Anna had done but I felt a sharp prick deep within and I found myself struggling to stay in control of my wolf and the bond that sizzled inside. Kira waved her hand dramatically in the air and stepped away from the wall. “I said Anna had a lover. Rather than ask me what I said, I thought you would be curious as to what happened to this guy… a sweet promising guy if you ask me…” she drawled as she strutted to the bed.

The male closed the gap between them quickly, and I was waiting for him to accept her, but she spoke first. “I, Crystal, daughter of the beta, reject you as my mate!” Crystal’s voice went up an octave and I slapped my hand in front of my mouth as a slight giggle escaped. Everyone was waiting for the howl of pain and the tension suddenly became almost unbearable. “Do you accept?!” Crystal seemed to panic when the man didn’t move. “Yes.” He sighed and turned to leave, but still there was no howl of pain. It was Crystal’s father who finally came to the rescue. He reminded her of her rank and her pale cheeks turned bright red. The rejection didn’t take, because she didn’t use the right wording.

I felt myself tearing up but I still wouldn’t stop staring at the Alpha leader. “Now that you’ve accepted your fate, we shall leave this wretched place and start our wedding vows.”

He smiled and answered, "I've been in that state too. I understand your pain, princess." Princess Rosanne immediately got curious because Kristoff never talked about his personal life since they were children. She asked, "What? Who is that girl? Why didn't you tell me? Did she reject you?" "She is the most beautiful girl I've ever seen. I love her very much but I never got the chance to confess." "Why?" Kristoff paused for a bit and answered, "She was the daughter of heaven. Furthermore, she was already in love with another man. I could just watch her from far praying for her happiness."
