Kyle twisted away from Damon and tried to reach Alexander again, but Alexander was already moving. Their movements became almost impossible to follow as they passed the responsibility of attacking between themselves. Kyle could defend against one of them, but the moment he committed to that defence, the other was already there. “Dammmmn,” I muttered. What kind of sick game was this? Alexander drove his fist into Kyle's stomach, and Kyle bent slightly. Damon's knee caught him before he could recover. Kyle flew backward and landed hard on the dusty ground, making the crowd explode with roars and cheers again.

His reflexes and awareness had saved him. Dante rushed at him again but Kyle quickly dodged, countering with a punch of his own that landed straight on Dante’s eye. Kyle grabbed Dante’s hand that held the scalpel and aimed a knee strike to Dante’s mid-section, simultaneously wrestling the scalpel from him. Dante suddenly picked Kyle up and slammed him into the ground, earning a loud grunt from Kyle. He jumped on Kyle but Kyle expertly locked him in a guillotine choke, squeezing the air out of his lungs in a few seconds before he pushed him away.

He had studied me so perfectly. He noticed the shock on my face and winked at me. Then the fight started. Before I could turn to face Kyle, he had lunged at me with so much intensity. Luckily, I sidestepped, and the whole school cheered at my reflexes. He stood there already annoyed and threw a punch, which made me land flat on the ground. My cheeks burned as Kyle stood over me laughing. I couldn't stay down. Too much was at stake. But I was looking for an opening to strike Kyle once and for all. I noticed the confident look on Drent's face, like he knew no matter what Kyle threw at me, I was still going to get up and win.

He chuckles, directing his question to Kent and me, and we wince. "No," I firmly reply. "Can we stop talking about all of this? Kent does all of the stuff he does with the girls he brings home from bars. We know that, everyone knows that. We don't do it in front of anyone, so please stop bringing it up." I whine, and Carlo clears his throat. "It's not what you think," Kyle shrugs. "It's weird at times, but they're still ready to fight all the time." Kyle always acted as a mediator, not caring about what others did as long as it made them happy. He refused to argue or take sides in most matters.
