“Then what do you want from me?” Lance leans forward, the intensity in his eyes pinning her down. “I want you to fight.” She blinks, stunned. “Fight?” He nods once. “Wade. Houston. The people who ruined both our lives. You want redemption? Then you’ll stand beside me and destroy them piece by piece. You’ll taste the same venom I swallowed for years. You’ll claw your way back with me, not as a victim—but as someone who can burn them all to the ground.”

It was like a soldier's entreating his colleagues at battle. “This is hard, even for me. But... You can wait for us downstairs like a frightened pup or march in there with us like the alpha you have in you,” he tabled. Walter stared deep into his eyes then nodded. Wayne patted him twice on the shoulder before turning to Dr Lance.

I pulled the trigger of the dart gun after shortly aiming at his left hand positioned flat on the plank of wood where he was tied on to. “Agh!” Walter cried sharply as soon as his brain recognized the pain his body had felt. Walter Ladwick was also in his mid sixties. He wasn’t fat and so his hand’s bones could easily feel the pain caused by the dart that pinned his left palm to the wood. “Are you taking this on video?” I asked one of Walter's men. “Make sure you do not miss anything in all that I am doing so whoever wants to defy me will know what awaits them when I get my hands on them!”

"I'll have Nikolai and JT coordinated by then. Anything else." "There's one more person I need." "Who." "Rhett Lexington." A pause. "The Falcons player." "Yes." "The one that looks like he was designed in a lab to be intimidating." "Walter…” "Ok…Ok… fine. But what exactly do you need Rhett Lexington for." “You will know when the time comes.” Silence. "Boss," Walter said carefully. "I don’t know what this is about. But I want my daughter safe… and I trust you. So I will do whatever you say.”

Evelyn's POV "I, Alpha Kyle Turner, reject you, Evelyn Sanders, as my mate." Alpha Kyle hoarse voice boomed in my ears making me freeze on my tracks, his voice laced with disgust. Crack! A cracking sound resounded inside my body and I felt as if a part of me was forcefully torn and taken away. My wolf howled in pain but there was nothing I could do about it. Tears flowed down my face as the pain became immeasurable, increasing with each second to the point I was unable to tolerate it. I could care less about the gazes on me. I was already used to it.

The Colonel requested, plastering on a mask of indifference. “So we are retrieving a vial?” Cartwright asked. He was Johnson’s second in command, a shorter guy compared to Johnson, and the newest member of the team. He was clearly still learning when to ask questions, prompting Johnson to ball up a piece of paper and chuck it at his face.“Hey!” Cartwright shouted, jumping at the impact. “You ask too many questions! We want to get out of this room!” Johnson quipped. The room erupted into laughter along with the boss.

“I hope it’s not a trap.” “And if it is, are you scared?” I tease him. “Me? Scared? Haa, I can laugh in the face of death.” He bursts out. We don’t need weapons to fight, we have our strength, which is more than enough. We go into the building, and within a few minutes, Oliver uses his sensitive nose to get Alpha Tate’s scent, and we find him. He looks so pale and white. His hands are connected to drips, he’s chained up and hanged lifeless on it.

Erica and I swiped our key cards and retrieved visitor passes from the reception desk for my brother and the other wolf. "My name is Alec," he introduced, "I am the one meant to be watching Jason today." Alec was tall with a broad, muscular build. His t-shirt clung to his biceps but was loose around the torso and his jeans were snug around the thighs. You didn't have to look twice to figure out that this guy worked out—going to the gym seemed like it should be his entire personality. He was fairly handsome, too, he was missing a head of hair but that gave him a rugged edge.
