' I pondered as my heart tightened at the thought of them grieving. "Don Luciano is on his way." Mr. Louis, the vice chancellor told me as he made sure I was comfortable on the bed in the inner room of his office. Kelly was beside me, glancing around with awe. "I can't believe I get to come here." Kelly squeaked and I just ignored her, shutting my eyes. "But are you married to Don Luciano?" She asked and I immediately opened my eyes to glare, wondering what sort of rubbish she was spouting again.

"You guessed right. My name is Commander Larry. I am in charge of this sector of the Evolution." She looked over her friends and was relieved to find them unharmed. "What do you want?" She asked the commander. Larry scoffed. "You know very well what I want, Lady Moonshine." Diana tilted her head, giving him a scrutinizing stare. "You are human so I assume you are working for the doctor." He shook his head. "I work with the doctor, not for him." Diana chuckled. "Do not delude yourself, Commander, nobody works with Gary Young. Whether you know it or not, he is the only that calls the shots.

Olive nodded and narrated everything, not even leaving out the part of Lois's boss because she didn't want to make them lose anything that could actually be relevant. “Walter Lance?” Dolly asked with bulging eyes. Everyone turned to stare at her. “Walter Lance is...is half werewolf?” she asked again looking disbelieved. “Do you know him?” Jake questioned. “I...yes. Well, no. Not in person. But, he's a very popular human celebrity,” she stated and rubbed the back of her neck. “Wait...that one you sometimes sneak out of the pack to—” Shem shut his mouth when he saw the daggers coming out of her eyes. They slowly looked at their elder brother only to see him looking calm.

And then I found the word, bold and clear, right there in the title. Doll. I looked up at him. He was watching me, his expression unreadable, but there was something in his eyes that hadn’t been there before. Something that looked like satisfaction. “I want you to be my Doll,” he said. Mia made a sound behind me, a sharp intake of breath, but I didn’t turn around. I couldn’t. I was standing in my doorway, holding a contract that said I was his, and the man who’d been following me for two weeks was waiting for me to sign it.

He looked familiar as well. “You must be Leah.” He smiled, as I stood to attention in front of the sofa. He outstretched his hand as I looked at him confused. “Oh, apologies, where are my manners. I am Jack Carter, Logans father.” I let out a sigh of relief and accepted his hand, shaking it. “Logan is at the office at the moment.” I explained. “I know, I actually came here to see you.” I tilted my head intrigued. “Have you seen the news?”

’ His thoughts were full of victory. Larry, on the other hand, nodded to Antonio, instructing him to keep his men away from them to ensure their privacy. Meanwhile, Elio, who thought the situation was under control, dashed to collect the bullets that were dispersed on the floor. “You should go home first. I will stay here,” Larry instructed Dell. Dell returned her gaze to Poppy's spot. “Okay, sir. After this, I will immediately ask Mr. Capri for double payment. I almost died because of this.”
