“Luna, the same man Alpha Arthur had sent to talk to you before came back and he still wanted to see you.” It was as if I suddenly ran out of blood. My hands are cold and sweat rolling down my forehead. “W-what?” Carter just nodded. “He’s here.” The next thing I knew Carter walked past me before the double doors creaked open, allowing him to enter. “I couldn’t do it,” I began, sensing his presence just behind me. “I am not a killer and I couldn't just end someone’s life knowing a lot of people depend on him. Samuel is an Alpha, his death would—”

He quickly wiped them away with the back of his hand, then grumbled, “I don’t care what you say. Without my permission, you’re not allowed to die.” Layla chuckled. “Oh? And what, are you the Grim Reaper now?” “You’re still laughing!” Carter huffed, pretending to be angry. “It’s all because of your nonsense. Stop saying such ridiculous things!” “I think it sounds kind of romantic, though…” “Romantic, my ass!” Carter didn’t even bother arguing. He just peeled an orange and stuffed two slices straight into her mouth. “Eat more, talk less. Fill your head with good thoughts instead of all this death nonsense. As long as my uncle is around, you’re not going anywhere.”

We both sat down, and he started, “Why did you change your name?” “I didn’t. He forced it on me”. I narrated the whole ordeal to Zayn from when I woke up from coma until now. “In summary, It’s been hell. The Carter we knew back then isn’t the same one in this house.” “And I swear, I would kill him!” Zayn seethed, his hands clenching and I immediately interlocked our hands, “We need a solid plan. Carter has so much authority and power in this country.” I said, trying to calm him down. “I think he has mental issues, I think he gets the thrill from killing people.”

A family had lost two of their sons, and I couldn’t forgive that. “Carter,” I said, and he looked at me. He started walking towards Rupprecht and shifted to his wolf form. He took slow steps closer to him, and Rupprecht’s eyes widened, and he started running. Carter knocked him sideways, then he bit down on his throat. He gave two shakes and Rupprecht’s head rolled to the side.

“I wouldn’t try to run, I’ve already sent a perfect image of all of your faces to my men- who will hunt you down and they will maul you for your disgrace towards a woman- and especially to a high rankers mate. “I said shut the fuck up!” T.J. shouted before the sound of a gun firing went off right in my ears. Suddenly, time froze. Carter’s chest had a small hole in it, which began leaking blood. Carter looked at me for a moment before he sank to the ground. That’s when the wolves came in.

She choked up blood for a little bit before her head fell to the side and she was dead. I got up and saw the battle still going on behind me. There were too many vampires and I saw Carter standing back, again, just watching what was happening. And I threw a red lightning streak at him while he was watching the fight and that lightning streak went from him and connected with all of his vampires and they were all struck down to the ground.

“What do you know so far?” I sigh, sitting in front of him and Carley, who he has pulled into his lap. Carter is unconscious and the blood steadily dripping from his body, but there is no way for us to reach him in the cage. She notices where I am looking. “I tried to doctor him, but the cage electrocuted me.” I nod at her. Of course, she would attempt to doctor her twin brother. Their relationship is strained, but Carter has slowly been making strides to repair his relationship with her and her husbands. “What’s your assessment?”

The night outside stretched endless and dark, the stars scattered like forgotten embers across an ink-stained sky. “What’s running through your head?” I asked softly. Carter let out a long breath, his shoulders slumping as though the prophecy itself were pressing down on him. When he turned to look at me, his eyes were heavy, glassy with something that wasn’t quite tears—but close. “I’m thinking,” he said slowly, voice cracking just slightly, “that one of us might have to kill the other before this is all over.”

He's freaking sexy and handsome although I am used to see handsome guys since my brothers are all handsome, not to brag ok? I secretly glance on his direction and I saw him sit beside the girl with blonde hair and she put her hands on his thigh and chest. What a flirt! I snorted and shake my head while I divert my attention to the teacher whose practically nagging him but it's seem he doesn't heard anything at all. "Mr. Ashton Carter, please behave and Ms. Elle Davis keep in your hands on yourself, don't wander else someone body" then teacher while she eyed both of them. Thank God this teacher has some senses.
