It is time they paid it back.” Then its body slowly turned transparent. “Memory extraction complete. “Memory Broadcast Protocol activated.” Before I could tighten my fingers around its tiny paw, the last of its energy burned out. It dissolved into a wisp of pale smoke and vanished without a trace. With everything it had left, the System began broadcasting my memories. The screen in the morgue went black. When it lit up again, it was playing a memory from the year I turned ten. Back then, I had been hiding behind a door.

I was in no mood to take in the spectacular sights of nighttime London. “So, where is he?” Wulfie asked. “Isle of Wight,” I mumbled. “He won an alpha challenge and decided to stay.” Wulfie paused for several moments before asking, “Did his memories return?” A lump formed in my throat, and I swallowed hard. “They didn’t have to because he connected to mine through our bond.” “Right.” Wulfie made an awkward cough. “I looked you up on Supernatural Media. Your reign was before my time, but if it’s any consolation, I know how you feel.”

He sounded relieved. "She woke up once last night. She didn't even recognize me." Last night, when I first came to, my vision hadn't cleared yet. I simply couldn't see who was there, so I asked. The healer went on, "She's been unconscious for so long, it's normal that her memory's jumbled. We'll run another test. If there's memory loss, there are always witches' potions. The southern witch, Olivia…" This poison mainly targeted the mind of a werewolf, and only then the body. My body felt fine. Clearly, the healer's antidote had worked.

I tactfully shifted the focus, reluctant to indulge Richard's enthusiastic fanboy tendencies any further. Leaving the matter in Wise's capable hands, I excused myself, citing a pressing engagement that required my attention. As I made my way to my chambers, a sense of urgency gripped me, prompting me to access the system dialog box without delay. With a swift click, the interface revealed a message that brought a sense of accomplishment and satisfaction: [Mission Accomplished - Victory] I gazed at the system's notification with amusement and disdain. The message read: [Become victorious against the Mighty Merlocks]

Out here catching eyes of some dumb bitches. He was deadass pissing me off. I kept my attention on the air hockey table where Reggie was talking trash while beating Jasper. The interface shifted into a high-density chatroom and command terminal. The last time I had been here was seven years ago. The screen erupted with scrolling text, notifications, and pings. [SYSTEM]: FoxDragon has entered the Abyss. The chat, which had been moving at a sluggish pace, came to an absolute standstill. [User_Glitch]:No way. Is the server bugging?*

Nathaniel looked directly into her eyes. "Your grandmother." Emma stared. "She's alive?" Nathaniel nodded. "And Samuel has spent twenty years trying to bring her back." Emma's heart pounded. "But why?" Nathaniel's smile disappeared. "Because your grandmother isn't human anymore." Michael shouted, "Emma, get away from him!" Nathaniel turned toward Michael. "Tell her." Michael said nothing. Nathaniel looked back at Emma. "Your grandmother was the first successful human memory transfer." Emma stared.
