Latest Novel By Danielle Steel Novels & Stories

’ as she dove in for another search. Taking the book, he realised it was a thinnish volume, in mint condition, and had Diamanda’s own picture on the back. Good God, it was her latest novel! One he hadn’t read but was dying to. It wasn’t even due out till next month. He studied the title - Watching Me, Watching You - then carefully flipped it open.

“Louisa Wilson, a twenty two year old woman. The documents I have gathered reveal that she was allegedly raped by Daniel Sawyer, a twenty eight year old man who is already married to another woman named Rebecca. It appears as though Louisa had developed feelings for Daniel, but he ultimately abandoned her instead of honoring them. This treatment has caused her great emotional distress and has shaken the foundation of her trust in men. She feels betrayed and used by the very person she thought would be honorable enough to reciprocate.”

Easy, Dani. “I will make your friends and the people you care about a living hell. I’m losing my patience, Danielle. I’ve waited for months for you to come back and return what you stole from me. You bring it to me tomorrow at nine in the morning, or I will have your friend’s fingers send it to you one by one. What’s her name? Serena.” “I don’t know anything about the book. I swear. I’ve never seen the book you’re talking about.” “Shit.” I ran my fingers through my hair. I wanted to punch something— maybe Francesco’s face would ease my rage.

Aeilana asks, “She ruined Melorie’s dress first, and I was nice! Was I not nice? I didn’t bite her, i didnt pull her hair, I didn’t stab her” The last one catches me off guard, “S-stab her?” I gasp. “Yes,” she nods, reaching into her bra. “Dani gave me this.” She beams, showing me a pocket knife. She flicks it open with a frightening precision. “Danielle?” I swallow, the blade coming a little too close to my neck before I can stop her. “Sorry, in my defence i gave it to sober her and it was for her protection.” Danielle yawns, “Clubs get rowdy sometimes.”

He said and Danielle walked out with an evil smirk - That evening she sat alone on her balcony. A glass of wine untouched beside her. The city lights stretched endlessly before her. Her phone rested in her hand. One photograph filled the screen. Tessa. Leaving her apartment in a running track suit. Completely unaware of the back SUV trailing slowly behind her. Danielle stared at the image. Then zoomed in. A slow cold smile spread across her face. She traced Tessa's face with her thumb. Then whispered softly, "You really should have left me alone."

"What did you buy?" Selene walked over to her bookshelf and pulled out a book. Danielle stared at it. "Uhm... Selene?" She blinked. "He's not a nerd like you." Selene rolled her eyes. "The gift isn't the book…It's what's inside the book." Danielle raised an eyebrow. "What's inside?" Selene opened a bookmarked page and handed it over. Danielle read it. A second later... "Oh my fucking God." Her mouth fell open.

She quickly snapped the leather folder shut in an effort to claim his attention, but he didn’t notice. I tried not to pay attention. I turned around, hit the elevator button, and waited. When I looked down the hallway, Mr. Steel was still watching me. I averted my eyes, but kept stealing glimpses at him inconspicuously. He was gorgeous and it was hard not to look … eye candy. His assistant scowled and walked away. A moment later, the elevator arrived and I quickly slipped in and hit the button to close the door. I took a deep breath, leaned back against the elevator wall, and closed my eyes, trying to clear the image of Mr. Steel from my mind.

A few seconds later, I say hesitantly, “I fucked up big time, Macy.” As I hear her laugh, I regret this and almost hang up, but then she whispers, “Oh no. What did you do now, Dani? Brandon loves you. Please don’t tell me that you fucked that guy from the club last night. I know you were giving him a lap dance, but what the fuck was up with you anyway?” Pausing, I try to search my memories of last night, even though they are somewhat hazy, I certainly don’t remember giving anyone a lap dance.

If I hadn’t found out the truth, I would probably be smiling at this text now, gushing over how she was the best cousin in the world. Still in thought, another notification came in, a message from Ethan – Call me when you wake up, I miss you. “These two despicable…” I cursed under my breath, angrily deleting their messages without reading them twice. By sunrise, my coffee was still untouched. My mind felt sharp and clearer, drifting back to Daniel Steel. Ethan’s estranged stepbrother, the handsome, ruthless, and brilliant one. The kind of man who could end someone’s career with a well-placed whisper.
