She headed to her bedroom, grabbed the thriller novel from her nightstand, the one she hadn't touched since Liam had become a problem, since reading about fictional danger had felt too close to her reality. When she returned to the living room, Wyatt had made himself comfortable on the couch, one arm stretched along the back, his long legs extended in front of him.
He looked good there. Too good. Like he belonged in her space.
Lauren didn't ask, just curled up beside him, tucking her legs under her, her shoulder pressing against his side as she opened the book. She could feel him stiffen for a moment before relaxing again.
