Then reality crept back in like a cold draft.
“No, I mean… I don’t have the money.”
I stared at him in disbelief.
“What do you mean, you don’t have the money? It's just pizza.”
“Yeah, and that's like twenty bucks I don't have right now.”
“So what? We just starve? Liam, I'm hungry” I said, grimacing.
“Don’t worry, I can always get an advance from Alex,” he said, pulling me to sit beside him.
I stared at him and let out a quick, disgusted snort. Not just because it sounded like he'd just suggested robbery, but because of the calm ease flashing in his deep blue eyes.
