Maya Cyrus counted the tickets for the second time before putting them into their envelopes. There were five tickets in total and she intended on giving them to her parents, siblings and Wanda at dinner later that day. The tickets were for a production by the American Ballet Theatre where she was a ballerina. Maya's interest in ballet was noticed first by her mother when she was six, and she joined an academy when she was seven. Maya served as an apprentice and joined some of the Ballet Theatre's production as a corps de ballet dancer but when she turned sixteen, she joined the theatre officially.

“I would like us to formally vote today on the matter of who will take the lead role—the prima ballerina—in our upcoming charity ballet showcase. As you all know, it’s less than two months away, and preparations need to solidify as soon as possible.” I turned to face the room more directly. “I propose—formally—that Daisy Harte reprises her acclaimed role as the prima ballerina. PYRAMID HIGH SCHOOL BALLERINAS AWARD DAY YEAR 1988 The grand hall is filled to brim as guests from several places took thier seats while cheering for the ballerinas coming to the stage one by one and taking a bow. Catherine Morgan and Linda Osborne danced in duo to the stage and bowed to the guests before dancing back to the changing room with elegance. Catherine was adjusting her attire in the dressing room when Linda catwalked into the room with elegance and stood beside Catherine while admiring herself in the mirror.

Before I could say anything, a tall, graceful woman in black leotard over a pair of black leggings, walked in from the back of the ballroom. “This is Eleanor,” Calix said. “She’s a professional choreographer. She’ll be teaching us the contemporary waltz we’ll be performing at the reception.” Eleanor gave a poised nod. “Pleasure.” Oh no. I wasn’t built for this. I mean, I could sway to Beyoncé at a club and hold my own, but this? Formal dancing? I wasn’t so sure. My palms were already sweating. “I should warn you,” I said. “I have the coordination of a newborn giraffe.”

For some reason, I prayed Gabriel won’t become the ball Queen. And to my relief, she didn’t. Ball Queen was Catherine Miller, a junior girl who always win first prize in every dance competitions. The Award function ended by 11 : 30 and the auditorium was given to mass dance. Gavin and Grace joined us in the back with their trophy and Michael immediately got it from Grace's hands and started inspecting it. Grace was laughing like crazy saying she never expected such an award.
