“Sounds like a superhero duo.” They bumped fists and continued walking. Scene – Leo’s Studio, Video Call Night Greg and Helena joined Tessy and Leo on a video call that weekend. Leo was in his new recording space, proudly showing off his setup. Tessy wore her Brentford hoodie and was stretched across her hostel bed. “Group trip, Christmas,” Leo announced. “To where?” Tessy asked. “Anywhere that sells meat pie and has Wi-Fi,” Leo replied. Helena laughed. “That could be anywhere in Lagos.”

Leo handed me gloves and I quickly wore it. Another thing so much weird is that leo never lets me touch any plant with my bare hands, he always makes sure that my hands are covered. He said it's because some of the plants here are poisonous and other plants might has some insects on it but I know that's not the only reason. I have seen fear in his eyes about it but I have often shrugged it off thinking, maybe I am thinking too much.

“Then I’ll paint the ceilings. Or maybe we can build the retreat center with big white walls just for my art.” Inside the house, the rhythm of late summer played out in comfortable layers. ONE OF THE PLACES Leesa and Dominic had been using to practice her magic was a large state forest about ten miles south of Middletown. The huge forest—several thousand acres in size—contained an almost infinite number of spots offering complete privacy. On the very small chance that someone or something might notice Leesa’s magic, the forest was far enough from town to make any connection to Weston College unlikely. Unlike the parks in Massachusetts and New York where they had practiced in the past, these woods were near enough to visit several times each week.
