Light.
It spilled from his mouth and chest like living flame without burning him, bright and deep, carrying a force that made my skin prickle and Seraphina’s tether pulse from inside me. The golden light gathered in front of him, twisting upward, widening, shaping itself with slow authority. Wings unfolded first, vast and luminous. Then a long neck rose, crowned with sweeping horns. A body formed in phantom outline, bigger than Seraphina’s, older, heavier with power. His scales glowed gold, but the edges shimmered with a silver-white phantom aura that made him look both solid and spirit at once.
