"The Forgotten Valley. A place that does not appear on any map." We ride at dawn. Kael. My mother. Freya. Darian. Roran. A dozen of the best warriors. The Forgotten Valley is hidden. The entrance is narrow, overgrown, easy to miss. But we find it. The valley itself is beautiful. Green and lush, with a river running through it. A small village sits at its center, its houses made of stone and wood. "This place is not forgotten," Kael says. "No. It is hidden." We ride into the village. The wolves who live here are wary, but not hostile. They watch us from windows, their eyes curious.

Children played in the dusty streets, their laughter ringing out against the cobblestone paths, while some elderly residents watched from rocking chairs on their porches; it was a typical family neighbourhood. Some villagers watched the SUV as it drove past, and I hoped we wouldn't cause any trouble. The air thickened with a blend of scents and freshly tilled soil. The sun began to set just below the horizon. As we navigated into the village, led by Jeremiah's compass, I noticed he smiled with satisfaction, pointing to a particular house down the street that looked just like the rest. “There. That's where Anakiyus and his little fiend are hiding,” Jeremiah said with a dark sneer.

As I returned to my hometown, gentle winds brushed my hair, the scent of grass and soil tickling my nose. I'd wandered far away from home in my early years, but time out there had made me wiser. Now, I understood that home was where I chose to stay. A storm had passed, and old leaves had fallen. When spring came, new shoots would sprout. I would be there, basking in the sunlight, while the scent of flowers fluttered in the air. Life was good.

“Let’s head back. We got some explaining to do.” ~*~ The storm still hadn’t stopped when we reached the bayou and the werewolves hid inside their houses as the rain dampened the entire village. Darkness covered the surroundings as the light flickered above when the lightning appeared in the sky. And as I looked at the bayou beside the village, I noticed that the water was rising. The rumbles of thunder and the patterns of the rain filled the atmosphere alongside the whistle of the breeze and the rustles of leaves. The trees surrounding the whole village were rocking back and forth as if they were about to fall on the moist ground.

The rain on the western ridge did not merely fall; it drove sideways, a relentless sheet of freezing highland water that turned the peat and heather into a thick, clinging mire. Tala stood perfectly motionless at the absolute precipice of the ridge, her feet dug firmly into the ancient earth. The storm howled around her, ripping at her clothes, but her spun-copper hair seemed to dance with a life of its own, vibrant against the dark, bruising gray of the sky. Her icy blue eyes were fixed on the valley below, tracking the glowing halogen headlights of Malakai’s heavy excavation armor as the machinery slowly ground its way toward the first sacred threshold.

"You seem to know as much about me as I do, Lord Petros. If you'll excuse me, I have a king to keep safe." She moved closer. Mist danced around her feet. The clouds surrounded the village, hemming the farms in. They grew heavy with rain. But Violet's focus was Eden. Lightning sparked around him. His arms were outstretched. The sapphires on his tunic mirrored the darkening clouds. He kept his eyes closed but she knew what lurked behind—raging gold, a sun barely contained. The downpour started. Rain drenched Marana, sending its children giggling through the streets. The farmers cheered. Some men took out their fiddles and drums, and struck up a beautiful rain dance song.

When he reached the village, an eerie silence hung in the air, occasionally broken by crashing and tumbling of stones and metal. As he moved deeper into the village, he saw that most of the houses had their lanterns on. The sounds of crashing and tumbling grew louder. He realised that most of the front doors in the houses were hanging askew, some windows were destroyed. One of the houses had a blasted out section in the wall. When he peeked inside, he saw scorched marks everywhere. It was as if the lightning had blasted through the wall. Where is everyone? From their line of sight, both could see that behind the wall of foliage hid a small village of sorts. This hidden village was much smaller in size when compared to villages such as Elderwood Village and Thousand Wood Village. It looks similar to that small village that Kirou had teleported to get to the mountainous region where the lizardman tribe lived. The clones observed the archer heading to what looks like the village head's house before turning to give each other a knowing look. Giving each other a nod, one of the clones dispelled to relay the information back to Kirou while the other kept a silent watch over the hidden village from its hidden location amongst the treetops.
