Mi Amor
I should have known better than to give my heart to a man like him.
I turned the water off, wrapped myself in a towel, and went out to my kitchen, where without consciously thinking about it, I started to make myself hot chocolate the way my mother did. I melted the chocolate in the top of a double boiler, whipped the milk to a froth, then blended them together. While they simmered I hung my towel up to dry and pulled on a pair of baggy boxer shorts.
Back in the kitchen, I topped the final product with whipped cream and chocolate shavings. Then I took my mug out to the living room and sat on the sofa. Cupping the warm mug in my hands, I considered my next move.
