At night, Eva could hear her sob, but in the morning, she'd put on a sweet smile and continued being distant. Eva hated that the excuse was, 'You know we need the money.' It made her feel like a pest like all she did was sit, so Lily did all the work. She worked, too; she sacrificed her teenage to care for their mother, skipped prom, and became friendless. So she wasn't just sitting around. Besides, if Lily hadn't destroyed their only chance for a good life, all this won't happen. But why couldn't she use that as a shield to wad of unwanted emotions now? Why did she shiver knowing Lily wasn't in her room but at the hospital after a meltdown?
