His reflection was visible in the mirror, which was odd; the book had said their reflections wouldn’t show.
What was going on?
“You’re quite handy, you know. Tsk,” he said, stepping closer and leaning on the table.
My eyes darted to him as he picked up a darker shade of lipstick that I didn’t usually use and held it out for me to take.
“This color suits you better than that one on your lips,” he said, referring to the pink-red lipstick I had on.
“And why is that?” I asked, breathing in and out softly.
I met his eyes, and he had a wide, almost maniacal grin on his face. For a few seconds, we locked eyes, and I showed no fear. His face brightened, and he smiled so sweetly it almost sent chills
