“You don’t look like…” “I look like a human, right?” she asked. “I’m an Omega. We’re much…smaller. I’m sure it’s easy to mistake me for a human, so don’t worry about it.” An Omega. I stifled a gasp. It hadn’t been polite to ask, but I couldn’t help it. I knew the wolf society had a very strict pecking order when it came to their hierarchy. I knew Omegas were at the bottom of that hierarchy, but I had no idea they looked so…human.

Today was my 18th birthday. It's a very exciting day for a wolf. Your wolf can recognize their mate. (Most of the time) In my case this won't happen since I still haven't shifted. Nobody in my pack knew expect for my mother and my younger brother. I was the family disgrace which is why I am the packs only omega.

' I so hate that word! I hate these ranks and statuses. Whoever came up with them must have been biased or kidding! Just because these people are a rank higher than me, they think that they have the liberty to beat me up and treat me as their slave? This is so bad and unacceptable. I hate all of them with every ounce of strength in me! I'm considered an Omega because everyone else's wolves have already shown up at around sixteen, seventeen and eighteen while I'm already twenty one years old and without a wolf. Her, ones wolf is supposed to show up before the age of eighteen where one will definitely meet his or her mate.

Kassandra's POV: First off let me tell you how I got to be an omega in my pack. It was one tragic night when I was 14 and I was at home with my parents, the alpha and luna of the Red river pack in texas. I had just got home from school and went to take a nap when I heard a noise from the living room. I went down to check it out and saw that three rogues had found their way into our house. Next thing I know my father was dead and my mother told me to run and that's what i did.

The innocent Omega happened to be Alexandra Valerie, a 18 year old young lady who lost her parents at a very tender age; she was demoted to the rank of Omega since the demise of her parent as she was seen as the weak link of the pack. Alpha Gordons, the leader of the pack did not tolerate weak wolves and made sure all the members of the pack, male and female gender, gets trained on defensive mechanisms to use in case of unexpected wars.

“Kneel.” The command was abrupt, spoken on a faint condescending whisper. Liora instantly sank to the floor. Cursed with an Omega designation from birth, her wolf seemingly had no will to resist the tauntings of her trainer, Nerissa. It was a daily routine: Nerissa would drag her before the other female omegas and use her as an example as to how they should behave- with complete and unquestioning obedience. JOSH POV Now, I have my first question. “Omegas?” I ask. Maddie smiles at me again. She begins to climb the stairs as she answers me, “Omega is a ranking within wolf shifter packs. It is the lowest rank of wolves. Most packs have an abundance of lower ranking wolves, omegas being the most prolific. They tend to be the worker bees. Landscapers, housekeepers, child care givers, teachers, nurses, and doctors; professions like that who are all about care and repetition, emotional empathy, encouragement and care. They have huge hearts, and it is in theirs’s and their wolves’ natures to be attentive and nurturing to the other pack members.

Aleah clutched her cheek in disbelief. "You have no right to talk back to us! You're only your father's child because of your mother's seduction. She used her status as an omega to catch a wealthy man. That's why she chose my husband as her victim," Aunt Melissa said, causing Aleah to clench her fists. Not a day went by in Aleah's life without her father's family reminding her of her mother's sins. She knew they considered her mother to be of low status because she was an omega. In werewolf packs, omegas were the lowest rank, and her mother was one of them.
