before Gamma Patrick whispered in my ears, “Omegas are killed like chickens. Misbehave and you’ll be the next barbeque.” My heart was bitter. So many threats. Why did the moon goddess make omegas? Why can’t everyone be equal in the werewolf community? I asked myself as I looked up to the sunny skies like I could see the face of the moon goddess even in the blinding ray of the sun.

"I'm a witch, duh. What other transformation do I need if not to appear evil with dark makeup and funny looking outfit" I began to make my way out of the corner I was hiding and eavesdropping on their conversation. "You're right Tarima, I don't like this class because I get laughed at by other pack members when I transform" I heard a different voice utter and stopped in my tracks. "Why is that?, you don't seem like a bad Wolfie" The vampire's bored voice resounded. "I'm an Omega and I get picked on because of my small size, not anymore though. But, that is why I move with the bigger wolves in the pack" she concluded.

He said, and I wanted to chuckle at his way of flirting. "As I was saying, you can choose to skip," I said to Liv, and she shook her head. "Actually, I was born an omega. My parents died when I was a year old. You guys already know that omega is the lowest rank in any pack. Everyone used to hate me. Things became difficult when I hit puberty. Since I was one of the most beautiful girls in the pack, the alpha had eyes on me. One day he asked me to come to his room in the pack house.

In England, they still practice treating the less fortunate Omegas as slaves.”

“Yes, Crinka. Classes. Don’t be tardy. It’s unbefitting for a lady.” “Oh, cut all this lady crap. I’m an omega. I have been one since I lost to my uncle in a fight. So please refrain from addressing me as a lady.” She pursed her lips and looked at me. “I will let this slide because you added please. But if you should talk to me again without a proper address, I’ll have you punished. Also, never demean yourself even if others do so. Now go get washed up. You stink.”

“Draven would have probably mentioned her to you, Ty. Her name’s Sin.” My frown deepened as I repeated her name in my mind. I was just about to tell her that I had no clue who she was talking about when the name clicked. Draven had briefly mentioned her but he never went into detail. The fact that he wanted the girl to live with them made me aware of just how much she must mean to him. I knew that she was an Omega which would explain why Lauren was being a bitch about her staying. “She’s an Omega, Bella,” I growled. “Do you want to start trouble?”

Sylvia shouted, wagging a finger at me. “I was just about to open the door,” I muttered, rubbing my eyes with a pounding heart. Sylvia was the head of an omega group, the one I belonged to. Even in that group, I was an outcast. Red Lake had a total of seventy-four wolves headed by Alpha Howard and Luna Grace. Despite our small size, Red Lake pack had beta and omega packs which were smaller units in the main pack headed by an alpha or a beta. Sylvia headed the smallest unit of the main pack, an omega pack because she was the weakest beta in Red Lake. The sub-pack comprised omegas – and me. She hated me.

The rink beneath my feet was warded to withstand supernatural force—so Alphas could hit harder, skate faster, and fight without restraint. Omegas weren’t allowed. Officially, we didn’t exist. I adjusted my duffel bag on my shoulder and kept walking, posture relaxed, head up. Confident, but not cocky. Visible, but not loud. The way an Alpha was supposed to move. Her daughter was a very curious pup, but she was never the one to cause trouble. She was never a person who would do things just because she felt like it. Whatever it was that was making her curious, was definitely something. Not that she could understand what it would feel like to have a call of the wolf, she was simply an Omega. Not like her daughter, who was born to be a Luna.
