Not even close. What kind of fantasy world was this man living in?

They are about to protest but I immediately left the room and made my way to the garden. Everything still looks surreal to me. My status, although abandoned, is still a princess. I have people working under me, unlike in my world where Im always the one working with my parents for my younger siblings. This world--- is very different from mine; emperor, king, prince, duke, magic, mermaid, siren-- I've only read it in books but it feels weird to live in the world of fantasy. I took a deep breath as I inhaled the fresh and cool air surrounding me before slowly closing my eyes.

They could mess with my ability and force me to cut myself off from everyone around me, but they could never take away what made me truly untouchable, my huge abundance of spite. It was too far away to be absolutely sure it was the Elf drifting towards Gorgoth. In a fantasy world, there could be all sorts of explanations for what it was. It could be a very unusual cloud formation, and still kill us all. In a fantasy world, nothing had to be what it first appeared to be. Or even what it second appeared to be. It made it much harder to know how soon you should start running. “We should go inside,” I said. “We don’t want to attract any attention.”

“It will be much like it was at the World’s Fair opening, Evelyn. Simply follow my lead. Can you do that?” Evelyn’s pulse kicked up a notch. Their trip to the World’s Fair had been like visiting an alternate existence. It went beyond simply politely 'familiar'. That had been an imaginary World of Tomorrow where the natural hierarchy and boundaries of wealth and social status had been erased, like the idealized Democracity or the egalitarian Futurama. Where people attracted to one another were free to explore that gift in each other's company without question.

If some months ago someone had told me I would one day be mated to a demon king and that I would become the queen of some realm for lost souls and demons, I would have just laughed to the person’s face and then go ahead to book an appointment for him at a mental hospital. I can’t also get my head around the fact that I now have some sort of strong connection with all the creatures here. It is so unbelievable. I never thought fantasies were real and now that I am living in one, it does not fail to amaze me each and everyday of my stay here.

I mean, don't you get tired of living for so long? I smiled at her. "I do get tired, Natalia. But I also have the luxury of time. I can take things slow, enjoy the simple pleasures of life, and explore the world around me. It's a different way of living, but it's one that I've grown to love." Natalia nodded, still absorbing everything I had said. "I see," she said softly. "It's just hard to imagine living for so long." I reached out and took her hand in mine. "You don't have to imagine it, Natalia. You can experience it for yourself. If you're willing, I can show you a world beyond your wildest dreams. A world of magic and wonder, where anything is possible."

I was the living and breathing royalty that everyone expects me to be. Reaching my hand up to the slow-moving clouds, cold, wet. Even in this world, problems that I cannot control, follow. I thought I could escape the world, the reality that I live in, leave the town, and the people’s gossip about me. But why? Why does the world need to be so cliche? Right. I was in a book. Of course, everything had to be this cliche. The things that you would read in a fairy tale where the protagonist gets teleported somewhere and is expected to take responsibility for the world. Weighing the problems of everyone in here on her shoulders alone.

They are greedy enough to live as long as they want. All the wonders of the world were being discovered, and not all those who possessed powers and ability in this world were evil. Just like how mages use their mana, the magic they possess makes the place more balanced since it is a fantasy world—mages build up their mana in intense training to make an easy and convenient way of living. For another example, what helps and balances the modern world are the human-made technologies. They didn't know at that time how destructive their experiments were, how they would turn out and how they would affect the world.

With Axil's speed, we made it back to the clearing in no time. The beautiful waterfall appeared before me once more and as I slid off Axil's back, a sudden thought struck me. I was living out a fantasy that I've read and heard about so many times in novels. Like... I always knew they existed because c'mon, I'm literally solid proof. I've lived so many years thinking that I'd never enter back into the supernatural world that I began thinking of them as mere myths.

David looked at the introduction of the system and was a little confused. ‘The Spirit Cage? ‘A virtual world built by the level 9 civilization Leila? ‘I can put my mind power into it, live, study, and fight? ‘Isn’t this similar to a fantasy?’ David had been inside a fantasy more than once, so he was well aware of how realistic it was. He still remembered the first time he was forced into it. It felt even more real than the real world.
