It was as if Fiona had just disappeared. “Lucian,” a voice boomed from behind. I tensed a little, turning to see Maddox’s figure emerging form the tree line, his gaze lingering on me. Behind hi, his warriors spread out momentarily ad they began searching the area. Gareth stood a few feet away from me, his expression neutral, though the tension in his posture was undeniable. “What are you doing here all alone?” Maddox demanded. I straightened and stood upright, forcing my expression to remain calm. “I picked up the scent of a rogue,” I said, “it led me here but I lost it here at the cliff.”

Third Person As the sun ascended to its zenith, casting a golden glow upon the battleground, the clash between the Red Moon Pack and the rogue invaders reached a momentary lull. Xander, his breath misting the air in front of him, stood at the heart of the grove, eyeing the rogue leader who emerged from the chaotic tapestry of combat. Aidan's brows crushed together as he saw me coming alone. He rushed forward and looked at my back. "Why are you alone?" He asked. "She wants to be alone." I shrugged my shoulders, taking steps forward. "It could be dangerous. You can't wander around alone. The dark could be anywhere." His words made me halt and looked back at him.

“Food, water, a knife, bandages. Enough to get you to the border.” I stared at the bag. Then at him. “You're kicking me out. In the middle of the night. Like a dog.” “I'm letting you go.” He said it like he was doing me a favor. Like I should be grateful. “There's a human settlement three days south. You'll make it.” “Three days through wolf territory.” I stood up, my legs shaking beneath me. “Alone. With nothing but a bag of scraps. Because you found a new woman to warm your bed.”
