A huge, darkly energetic chamber waited for them beyond. A tall figure stood in the middle, its eyes gleaming with evil energy. The voice of the figure reverberated across the room as it spoke. "Your adventure stops here, but you have traveled a long way. You are powerless against me, for I am the Lord of Shadows." A wave of panic shot through Eldon, but he ignored it. He stated, "We'll see about that," with a determined tone in his voice. The chamber descended into turmoil as the battle started.

The world went white, but the story did not end. In the center of the void, a single, handwritten sentence appeared in ink that looked like blood and violet light: "CHAPTER ONE: The girl woke up in a world where the stars were made of wood, and the man beside her remembered her name before she did." Beneath the text, the gold coin—now purely, blindingly bronze—began to spin, a compass seeking a north that had not yet been created.
