Andy held her gaze and added, “I’ll need to take Mamaw to get her approval. But if it’s for the pack, for the survivors… I don’t see why she’d say no.”
Loria leaned forward, resting her elbows on her knees, her hands hanging limp for a moment before she dragged them through her hair. The image of thirty bodies waiting to be buried, of more survivors on the way, of Moon sleeping quietly—all of it pressed against her.
