“Shut up, Lydia,” Samu cut in coldly, surprising everyone, and she turned to her brother as if the roles had suddenly been switched. “Lincoln, are you crazy? Clearly these ten years you spent overseas have gone to your head.” Lincoln did not appreciate the blunt. “Do you want me to spell it out to you? That place is forbidden, what makes you think you can go there?”
“That place…” Lincoln said through his teeth, and for a second I feared that he was going to let everything slip, but his gaze found mine for a second. “Lydia, let’s go.” He grabbed her hand and did not wait for her to protest.
