The Queen Mother knelt beside him. "It isn't." Her voice softened. "But sometimes protecting people means letting others fight for you." Aiden didn't look convinced. But he nodded. Reluctantly. Outside, another roar split the night. The palace shook harder than ever. Time was running out. Killian turned toward the door. His golden eyes burned with determination. The Alpha King had returned. His kingdom was under attack. And for the first time in years, he wasn't facing it alone. As they stepped into the corridor together, none of them noticed the figure watching from the shadows above.

The silence that followed was absolute. Slowly, Karlo turned around. The expression on his face wasn't anger, it was a completely blank, hollow, void of pure, unadulterated carnage.
