Blood Vengeance; a mafia romance story
Outside, the square fills slowly, a market setting up, stalls and canvas, the routine of people doing familiar things.
"How are you?" Lucien asks.
I turn to look at him, about to tell him this isn’t the time to tease, but my words stick in my throat when I see a concerned look replacing his cold mafia look.
"I don't know yet," I say honestly, shaking my legs gently to keep still. "I keep waiting to feel something specific, grief or relief or anger, but instead, I just feel like someone rearranged all the pieces of a puzzle I thought I knew so well, and now I’m still working out where everything fits."
