“You haven’t told us everything. What the hell is going on, Luca? Why are those creatures after me?” Luca stood across from me, his eyes locked on mine. For a moment, there was a flicker of something in his expression—something I couldn’t place. But just as quickly as it appeared, it was gone, replaced by the cold mask he had been wearing since we met again. “They’re not after you specifically,” Luca replied, his voice low and steady. “They’re after power. And right now, they believe you’re the key to getting it.” I frowned, confusion knotting my stomach. “What do you mean, the key? I’m just an omega. I don’t—”

I wasn't going to let them do as they please anymore without a fight. Later that morning, Luca summoned me. His eyes were cold as he delivered his task. “There’s a spy we caught. I want you to interrogate him. No physical violence.” His lip curled into a sneer. “Let’s see if your mouth is good for something other than begging.” He had multiple ways of getting on my nerves. That aside, it was obvious that he was testing me. “ Alright,” I nodded my head. Nico, whose presence I had noticed a while back leaned against the doorframe.

He looks infuriatingly composed for a man who allegedly watched someone almost die at the edge of a cliff. “How long have you been there?” I demand. “Long enough to know you’re not entirely ungrateful,” he says.
