*** That same Night - Lucian’s Apartment Lucian sat alone in the dark, listening again to the nurse’s voice memo he had recorded without permission. The words kept playing like a broken record, hurting his already aching heart more and more. He gripped the edge of the table tightly. He had stood on the wrong side of Isla’s war. I snapped at the yacht, trying to make him recall some memories. I still had my face. Why was he pretending like I was wearing a mask? Or was he suffering from memory loss? "I'm sorry about that... I got too carried away" he apologized, referring to the embrace, and I was too stunned to speak. Dante never apologizes, he always claims right as though he was never wrong. What was wrong with me? She asks herself while staring at Vivian's smiling image in the newspaper. She starts laughing at her own thoughts. "Of course not. I'm merely a substitute for Shirley and most likely I won't even meet him if I didn't plan everything from the start." She says, then folds the newspaper and hides it in the drawer. "This time I will make things right," she mumbles. Then she started rummaging through her computer and soon began typing on her phone. MEANWHILE, at Lucian's Villa. Lucian was still having difficulty sleeping, even with Latton in his arms, he couldn't stop having nightmares about losing her.

She sighed and shook her head at him and then climbed into bed with her back to him. Lucian sighed and with a gun in his hand, walked to the door and turned off the light then he walked to the window and stared out through it but the street was quiet and so was the vicinity. He pulled the chair in the room closed to the window and sat down, his eyes now on the feminine figure on the bed, without warning, the incident of the night flashed back in his mind and he ended up wondering, if the attacked had not been made, what would have happened? And moreover, why didn’t she push him away, he thought she hates him? And most importantly, what came over him? Why did he do that? And if he should turn

"I made a terrible mistake a long time ago. I hurt her very badly, and I have regretted it every single day since. I am here today because I want to try and show her that I can be better." Leo stared at him, processing the confession with a heavy, calculating gaze that was entirely too mature for a five year old. Slowly, he lowered the bat. "Julian never makes her cry." The name hit Lucian like a physical knife to the ribs. A flash of dark, possessive agony crossed his eyes, but he swallowed it down instantly. He took the hit. He deserved it. "I know," Lucian murmured. "Julian is a good man. But I promise you, Leo, I will never let anyone make her cry ever again. Especially not me."
