The curtain behind the altar moved. And Lucian stepped out. His eyes caught mine. No anger. No shock. Just something... tender. Regretful. My voice was steady, but I could see the impact of my words on him. Lucas stared at me for a moment, his expression conflicted. The servant led her back inside while he remained outside, his face tightened back into the same hard mask. "REGRET". The word whispered inside his mind. A bitter laugh caught in his chest. Not yet.

“It’s quiet here. Helps clear my mind.” I turned back to the view. “I was trying to do the same.” Lucian was quiet for a moment before he sighed. “Mira… about earlier today…” I glanced at him. His eyes were filled with something deep. Something unspoken. “I’m sorry,” he murmured. “For what happened.” I knew what he meant. When he had lost control. When he had chased me. When he had almost… I swallowed. “You weren’t yourself.” “That doesn’t change what I did.” His voice was laced with regret. “I almost hurt you. I almost—” He exhaled sharply, shaking his head. “I don’t know how to live with that.”

For my sake, Yelena went through IVF, enduring so much pain. She finally conceived, only for me to destroy everything with a moment of infidelity. I truly regretted it. If I had known things would end up like this, I never would have strayed. Wouldn't it have been better to stay faithful to one person? Humans were so foolish. "Aurora! I told Damian I wanted to apologize, and I can't believe he brought you here. I know I was wrong that day. Will you forgive me?" I looked at Damian, but he just kept flipping through the auction catalog in silence. So that was the real reason for this trip. So Clara could apologize. The whole “clearing my head” excuse had just been a cover. I felt empty inside, as if something inside me had been hollowed out, but I didn't even have any tears left to cry. Clara reached for my hand, her eyes full of regret. "I really didn't mean to hurt you. I was just so excited. After being away so long, it's nice seeing everyone again, and I can't help but feel happy about it."

"You can't hold me out of my will. You can't do that!" Henry chuckled. "Watch me." He simply waved at Martins and Lauren was dragged now towards the guest room. “Diana will never come back to you!” she shouted over her shoulder as she was pulled away. “Never!” Her laughter echoed down the hallway until the door shut behind them. Silence fell heavily over the living room. Henry stood there for a moment, breathing hard. Then the anger drained out of him, leaving something much worse behind. Regret. He exhaled slowly and sank back into the couch. His elbows rested on his knees as he stared down at the floor.
